  1. Look, we dont have a lot of wiggle room anymore. You guys coming out of the gates blazing and us being wildly inconsistent have put us here. But any series that drops our deficit is good news.
  2. Whoa bro. That wasnt me who made that post.
  3. I actually think that Coors really helped him in his 49 homer yr. IE, his power was severely inflated. But I also think that this guy is a .330 20HR hitter even if he leaves, but only if he is healthy. And that was in serious doubt in the offseason. But right now the guy is hitting like a man on fire.
  4. I never said I was calling it a season. I said you guys would win the AL East. The Wild Card teams are much more flawed and much more likely to falter down the stretch.
  5. Yes. These series are a chance to gain either 1 or 3 games in the standings. This series needed to come out in our favor. So does the next one. And I think that a double digit lead when we dont play you guys again until August would be way too much to overcome. If we tread water until our next series with you guys and then take 2 of 3, we are at the 8 mark, which at the beginning of June is not that bad considering where we were. The point is, we need to keep chipping away. This series passed and we chipped one off the lead. Chip 2-3 games off per month and we can do it. Drop any further back and we cannot.
  6. are you out of your goddamn mind? Every yankee-sox game is a 2 game swing. A loss tonight would have put us 11 games back in the loss column. The win got us back into single digits.
  7. Orsillo is hilarious, in a simple minded kind of way.
  8. He doesnt strike the same kind of fear that he did in the past, so pitchers are flinging it up there. But to go against what you are saying, he has been swinging earlier in the count of late. They had a stat on a yankee broadcast where he walked once in 62 ABs in one stretch. They also had a stat on his first pitch swings, which was way higher than his average. DOnt have the actual numbers, but it sounds like he started slumping, then starting getting overaggressive.
  9. a f***ing godsend that we didnt pick it up already. I wont write him off yet either, but seriously. He isnt even walking, which is his best attribute.
  10. okay, this month. Cmon now. I love to pile on the sox, but I wont write Schill off just yet.
  11. if Schill is gonna hit ARod, this will be the turn.
  12. Damon hit that one hard too. It is f***ing BP.
  13. Minky drops the bat at the plate. NICE!
  14. my point exactly. A 4ish ERA when he is averaging well over 6IP per start. You guys need to see what really bad pitching looks like. See our staff circa april 2007.
  15. that was a good play by Robby. Seriously, Cano is so goddamn hard to get a handle on. He nonchalants every now and then, but he is typically a good 2b. Hence why he is so tough to read. His nonchalanting is annoying.
  16. He hit Jeter in the back with a 4 run deficit with 0 on in the 8th inning. Do the math.
  17. that is better. I just wouldnt tell Schill to go f*** himself. BTW, Schilling's line this season has been pretty good. He's going through a rough patch. It happens.
  18. Bobby Abreu has been the anti-rally this season.
  19. are you serious? Schill should get unrelenting praise from sox fans. That is like me telling Mo to go f*** himself.
