  1. Seattle is up 2 in the loss column which is all that really matters. We need some help.
  2. sheer idiocy for the most part. Until tonight, Wang had been one of the best pitchers in the AL, hands down. He gives innings, he is consistent and he can be damn near dominant on a nightly basis. If you wish to be concerned, then go off todays's start which was very uncharacteristic or the fact that he seems to flatten out that sinker after 6 innings. In his last start, Molina had him throwing more 4 seamers and changeups to try and get his swing and miss capability up. He is trying things. But in terms of him being a disappointment, cmon now, give me a break. He is still under a 4ERA and gives more innings per start than most any pitcher in baseball (once again, until tonight). If he gets that sinker to stay down, he'll recover what he was prior to tonight. So if you want to cry about one bad start, then cry about the fact that his sinker was belt high all game long. But I wouldnt cry about Wang, I'd take him over nearly anyone in the AL sans Santana.
  3. Kennedy threw 6 shutout innings today against the Pawsox, allowing 5 hits, 1 walk and striking out 9. His ERA in AAA is 1.06. He is absolutely dominating the minors this yr.
  4. Wang has beenfine recently, he just started to fade late in games. Today, he has faded from the first pitch.
  5. 4-2 wang has nothing today
  6. If that Aug 28th series is entered with a less than 5 game lead, then you may be in trouble.
  7. Good for him. Um yeah, go ARod.
  8. kid looked good. Wouldnt mind seeing the curve or change mixed in. But he'll get results out of the pen with 2 pitches. I just dont like that many sliders on a young arm.
  9. 99mph on the heat. Man, this kid has some sort of arsenal.
  10. anyone see that slider??? 88mph and it was ridiculous. Wow.
  11. f***, nerves again.
  12. HERE COMES JOBA!
  13. no, he was passed through revokable waivers. Just means he can be dealt now.
  14. eh, Brower gets out of it. He's more of a filler IMO. I would have rather seen Edwar, but what can you do. I do find it odd that a s***** vet like Brower gets the callup and 2 consecutive days of work while Edwar, a young kid with better stuff and future, comes up and is left to languish.
  15. But no warning should have been issued is my point. You give the edge to the team that initiated the incident.
  16. It would be for some crappy prospect most likely. WMP's value has plummeted. If nobody would be willing to claim him off waivers when he could have been free, you see what most teams think of him.
  17. Roger showing the balls that had been missing on this team since he left. Right between the numbers. And Angle Hernandez, who by all accounts is one of the worst umpires in the game, doesnt let the players police themselves. f*** him. I am glad Clemens gave him an earful.
  18. In regards to Clemens, he is throwing plenty of heaters. He is locating them early then putting the hitters away with the offspeed stuff. If he isnt locating the heat, he cannot get ahead and hence cannot use the offspeed stuff. In terms of this game, we are decimating the Jays. They should not have thrown at ARod, they were down 1-0 at that time and that HBP opened a big can of worms.
  19. so a .340 hitter in the NL would hit .240 in the AL? Hanley would still be one of the best offensive players in the game if he was in the AL, no doubt.
  20. It would have been prudent to keep a cheaper defensive whiz than taking a chance on Lugo. At least when AGon isnt hitting, he is fielding out of his mind. When Lugo isnt hitting, he is a defensive and offensive liability.
  21. I really like this kid. Loads of power and lots of enthusiasm.
  22. he doesnt throw 95 anymore. I dont expect him to be dominant by his fastball. What he is doing is locating the heat very well and then showing off his very strong off speed arsenal when he is ahead. His curve and splitty have been dynamite.
  23. Here's the deal. He has cleared waivers, meaning he can be traded. If they DFA him, he will likely clear waivers again, BUT, afterwards, he'd have the option of reporting to AAA or choosing FA, and for his own good, he should choose FA and go to a team that he can play regularly for.
  24. Roger has been on fire tonight.
