  1. I am blacked out so I cannot watch. Stupid Fox in Mass !!!
  2. the romp is on, 7-2.
  3. it is awesome. Kennedy has settled down and the offense is waking up. 5-2 yankees and still rallying.
  4. Kennedy is a guy who will take a longer time to adjust to the bigs than the rest. He has a 90mph fastball and an arsenal that consists of good but not great breaking stuff. His location is his biggest asset, and as we know, rookies dont get the corners in the bigs, so he will have some trouble adjusting.
  5. Gom, once again, your analysis is far from objective. First of all, I have seen Hughes a couple times in person. Right now his velocity is a bit down, and it has been down since he came back from his injury. And again, his fastball location has seemed to tail off the last 2 starts. But he has a deep arsenal, a track record of great control and will eventually be a mainstay of our rotation. He just isnt ready right now. There are plenty of guys who come up and suck initially, then put it together and become dominant. This will be Hughes. As a matter of fact, the only rookies who come up and dominate right away are those with freak show stuff like Chamberlain and Liriano. Hughes has good stuff and a deep arsenal, he just isnt putting it together consistently enough to be effective. He will have a starting spot in the rotation and having a season under his belt while entering a yr healthy can only be good for him.
  6. Kennedy is having trouble. Oh well, it may be time for the Moose to get back in there next week.
  7. Hey, YANKEES WIN A TITLE. Of the ...GCL. What is more important, though was the maturity of Jesus Montero, the 17 yr old catcher who is in his first season of professional ball. During the regular season, Montero hit .280 with 3 HR in 33 games, but what was more amazing was his patience. Touted as a free swinger, Montero had an IsoP of .086. And in the playoffs, Montero broke out with the power, batting .375 with 2 more homers. He is certainly getting a whole lot better and should start next season in long season for Charleston.
  8. He's 34 and coming off 2 seasons of pretty rough injuries. Can you blame a guy for trying to recover?
  9. Once again Gom. You will be latched on to his balls hardcore come next season. He's 21. He is having a rough go of it. He'll rebound. I just dont think it will come this season.
  10. Once again, Gom, Hughes is 21 yrs old, sustained a pretty significant injury and just doesnt look ready right now. Most every pitcher starts off with some bumps and bruises. Hughes is getting his right now.
  11. Millar is a 1b right now, and he isnt as good as youkilis.
  12. It wont happen so long as the sox dont try and reignite this thing. I would love for us to drill Papi, absolutely. Mostly because our best players always seem to be targets when we face you guys, the tables should get turned at some point.
  13. I like that the seed has been planted. If Beckett goes up and in on ARod or Jeter, I would love to see the Papi Joba matchup later in the game.
  14. Sox will take 2 of 3 in their sleep.
  15. Beckett is "crazy enough"? 1. Chamberlain throws harder. 2. Chamberlain just did go for the dome twice. If Beckett wants to play that game, then I would assume Papi would be eating his teeth for dinner after the next series. The sox whining about this is hilarious after how many yrs of them throwing at our guys. How's the taste of your own medicine?
  16. If he was sending a message, I would assume the message would have been sent to Ortiz. Either way, you can call him gutless, but that would not be correct. Gutless was letting the sox pitchers walk all over us and our pitchers turning the other cheek. Well, when Beckett wants to "move ARod off the plate" or DiceK wants to "get inside" on our hitters, there will be swift and painful repercussions. I had thought that Farns was the one with enough guts to go in head high to send a message, but he has been a big pile of suck and gutlessness. Chamberlain, OTOH, has lightning in the arm and he has at least put it in the minds of the sox that he is willing to go in. So no more stray pitches that just happen to hit our best player between the numbers. Or maybe one will come with increasing velocity at dome level.
  17. For those of you who wanted to blame Manny for the sox offensive inconsistencies, I would assume you got your wakeup call the past 2 games. Subtracting Manny and inserting a shmuck like Hinske makes the sox lineup totally pedestrian. Papi can be pitched carefully to, the bottom of the order becomes more of a joke, and unless the sox get a hold of one and ride it out of the park, rallies are easily avoidable. Manny needs to get back soon. If he misses the next series in 2 weeks, you might be swept again.
  18. Gom, the paper said that Chamberlain is pushing Hughes to work even harder. It doesnt say that Hughes wasnt working hard to begin with. And it is the damn post, quite possibly the worst paper to grace NY doorsteps. Its on the level with Star magazine, I wouldnt be taking quotes about baseball players work ethic from there.
  19. He went first pitch between the shoulder blades. That isnt an accident, just like going head high twice in a row isnt an accident. I dont worry about going head high. I dont think it was warranted with the guy they did it against, but I can hardly blame the yankees for wanting to shake up that box a bit after the transgressions of the sox pitchers over the yrs and this yr too. So long as we are ready to accept the repercussions, then I am fine with it. But now that we have a lightning armed assassin out there, your pitchers may be less likely to retaliate.
  20. the best thing is we dont have to choose. Chamberlain has the highest ceiling, there is no doubt about that. I think both of them are pitching well in the rotation next season.
  21. how many hitters must be hit on our end before we can retaliate. I didnt see it, but I am glad that the kid has enough balls to buzz the tower a few times after our hitters have had targets on their back every season against you guys. DiceK DRILLED arod first pitch in game 1, and nothing. Jeter got knocked down also, no retaliation. Finally, the kid with the scary good arm shows he'll go high. So yeah, bring it on Beckett. Go for one of the yankees. We'll just see how Papi enjoys his heat sandwich in retaliation, and Joba throws harder.
  22. from your many sources I assume? Poor work ethic my ass, the kid is a hard worker. Either way Gom, lets not argue. Just admit that you know s*** about the yankee minor leaguers and even less about development. And by the looks of it, you are about as thin as they come. In a yr you'll be firmly attached to this kids nuts and admit how wrong you were to judge a 21 yr old in his first go round in the bigs.
  23. enjoy the game guys. To work I go.
