This is what I want. I have said before that I love Don Mattingly, he is the single reason why I am a yankee fan. But I dont think he is the right guy for this club's future, especially since they are getting younger in nearly all facets.

Cashman has essentially removed the yankees from consideration if he opts out. Therefore, without the team that continually goes over and beyond other offers, dont you think he could get considerably less? Plus, ARod's first deal was made by an idiot who hamstrung his team on this one contract. Dont you think other teams in a similar situation would recognize that? I dont think the Tom Hicks' of the world will continue to make these kinds of mistakes. I will put it right down, right now. If ARod opts out, he will not make more than 30 mil per season AAV over the life of his contract. He wont.
