This team is frustrating to watch right now. They're discombobulated. Good offensive day, and the pitching blows up. Good pitching day and the offense is quiet. Good pitching and offense and the D or the pen give it up. They'll find their groove. Thing is, it is pretty hard to get a groove going when 3 of your starters, and middle of the order forces are on the DL. ARod is due back this week. Posada and Nady are due back by month's end. Marte is due back mid month. And Bruney, assuming he doesnt need surgery, should be back by month's end. We need all the firepower we can get. And, Wang is due back by month's end. Its amazing, 2 yrs in a row the injuries just gut us. Last yr, we lost Posada, Matsui, Wang, ARod for 3 weeks, Damon for 3 weeks, Chamberlain for 6 weeks and others I may be forgetting 5 weeks into this season, we lose ARod for 6 weeks, Nady for 6 weeks, Wang for 6 weeks, Posada for 3 weeks, Bruney for 4 weeks assuming he doesnt need surgery, and Marte for 2-4 weeks. The injuries around this team are immense. And, one thing the dynasty yankees had was health. That team didnt miss games. Now, seems we're missing half the team.

Right now, the sox pen is running laps around the yankees. Doesnt help that Marte has been injured and our best middle reliever is likely headed for TJ. That put undo pressure on Veras and Edwar who have been great in some appearances and absolutely terrible in others. We've tried Melancon who has been uncharacteristically wild, might be nerves. We've tried Robertson who has had his moments as well. The fact is, the pen will even out. The question is, when. Its difficult to have a middle relief brigade that consists of no true MLB veterans. Marte and Bruney brought that to the table. Now they're out. Might be time for a move.

I have no problem with that. I hope he stays a giant douche and continues to make at bats uncomfortable for the sox. If only he thought of throwing mid 90s cheese in the first, this would have been a yankee win.

Here's to hoping he pulls through. Lung CA is never a good thing. If caught early, it is curable. But that is rarely the case. Hopefully his was.

Reports indicate that the Nats will shut him down this yr after they take him if they sign him of course. I would assume he would go to AAA from there and be a midseason callup in 2010. Paired with Jordan Zimmerman, the Nats might end up having a solid 1-2 punch for yrs to come
