One of the biggest questions to be answered this offseason is if we should re-up Matsui for one season at cheap money. I never thought we'd be saying this, but Matsui is looking great in the DH role. He seems to be moving around much better and is putting together much better ABs. His season numbers are surprisingly excellent. .264/.369/.516 with an .885OPS. And I am pretty glad they decided not to put him back in the OF. We have Gardner, Melky, Damon, Swisher and Hinske who could play the OF. We just need Hideki swinging the stick. So, do we offer him a 5 mil contract with incentives for next yr like we did with Pettitte?

What, couldnt get into an Ivy League? Decided to leave the country? I dont care where you went to college. It means nothing other than the fact that you did well enough to get through high school. Lets put it this way, I got into both Ivy's I applied to, decided to save some money and went to a state school, went to med school and graduated with honors. That's enough for me.

Ah, Dipre coming to the rescue of the newbie getting hazed. Not much in the way of a we for you either, seeing as this is your first season here. Regardless, it happens every yr. I never said his shoulder was hanging by a thread, I said that about Penny. That being said, I was just making a point. Having one sentence saying he was locating well followed directly by a statement saying he wasnt locating is contradictory.

There was a piece on this awhile ago where the Mets 25 man was well above the average in terms of hispanic players. You know what, though, who cares. Its pretty obvious that the game crosses color and ethnicity lines. Trying to all black a team or all white, or all hispanic a team is doing your team a detriment. And the Mets are running into it. Its all about grabbing talent regardless of their background.
