  1. Burnett is one of the top 10 starters in the AL. Beckett and CC are in the top 3. There is a difference
  2. the sox are a nightmare for the yanks? You mean the team we just took 6 of 7 from over the last 3 weeks? Yep, nightmarish.
  3. Neither of them are Josh Beckett. If I expected Joba or AJ to perform to the lofty standards of Beckett, then I should be concerned. But I expect both of them to perform like AJ (a #2) and Joba (a first time MLB SP). And they have both pitched as they have been cast
  4. This is another retarded thread. Seriously, this is just a f***ing retarded thread as per usual. #1. AJ has been solid with mixed in clunkers for awhile now. He hasnt put two together (like Beckett did), so until he does, then it is what it is, a bad start. #2. This is what Joba has been all yr. A run of dominant starts mixed in with s***** starts. I get that you guys are trying to grill me, and that's cool. But my post was prefaced with Josh Beckett, the presumed Cy Young candidate who had a run of brilliance and then ran into a wall. Both of the above guys have been performing like this most of the yr.
  5. Nick Swisher should be f***ed in the ass with a hot poker. Mother f***er.
  6. Wait, so Bill Klapisch had info that NOBODY else had and NOBODY else confirmed? And you believe it, well, because, it HAS to be right. Even after Cashman denied it prior to the start of the 2008 season, BEFORE Kennedy and Melky's stock went in the shitter. Cashman has ALWAYS said that Hughes was the centerpiece of the deal. EVERY TIME. He has not wavered. And he has maintained that since right after the deal was made with the Mets. So you will take the word of one writer, even though most other writers refuted it and Cashman has refuted it EVERY time. You are such a moron, you believe what you want to believe. 2009 would be shot if we had Johan. No Hughes, no CC, Johan on the DL, we'd be f***ed.
  7. Neftali Feliz is ridiculous
  8. a 97mph cookie at that
  9. he was pretty good. He battled a lot, he wasnt 100% on, but he had good heat and was able to backdoor the curve
  10. Matt Thorton is not providing relief.
  11. why do you pitch to VMart when you have Ellsbury on deck
  12. this made me chuckle
  13. The sox were due for an offensive down game.
  14. thats not on Tek. The ball reversed direction
  15. I think a lot of it is mechanical. You have a kid who has always just overpowered people who got a big time scare last yr with the shoulder injury. Also, this is the first full yr he has started, well, ever. His last yr at Nebraska, he missed a bunch of time with a tricep injury. In 2007, he missed the first 3 weeks with a hammy injury and then switched to relief at the end of the yr. In 2008, he started out of the pen, then went to the rotation, got injured and then went back to the pen. This is really the first yr he has started out as a starter and has stayed healthy.
  16. Joba is getting bled to death tonight
  17. Sox fans should be happy. 4-0 in the first
  18. I had to root for the red sox in 2007 when they played our primary competition for the WC.
  19. Cashman laid it on the line last yr saying that it was Melky and Hughes plus 2 of a group of 4 or 5 prospects.
  20. Yes, they did. They also said yesterday that he would need TJ. That is what I was going off of. And in terms of Dipre, the nerve was never the issue
  21. he said the ulnar nerve is okay. That isnt what they were checking for. They were checking for a UCL tear. They dont care about the nerve unless it requires transposition.
  22. Dipre, stick to law. Tommy John surgery replaces the ulnar collateral ligament. Not the nerve. Sometimes you need to transposition the nerve due to pain, but that is a different surgery altogether. Also, when they get into the elbow, they will get a chance to see how strong the UCL is. AND, I was going off the reports saying he needed Tommy John. So, yeah, go screw
  23. this is quite possibly the worst post in talksox history
  24. At NO point has Cashman ever confirmed that ridiculously piddly package. Cashman has always maintained that Hughes was a necessity in the deal and he wasnt comfortable with losing him. AND, dealing for Santana would have sabotaged 2009 and 2010. So yes, dealing for him would have been only a Gom idea with the info we have now. (translation...Gom=stupid)
