  1. and last I checked, the games are either won or lost and while run diff is nice, the W's are all that matters. I think thats more important IMO.
  2. http://espn.go.com/mlb/standings
  3. Yanks' run diff is better there RSR

  5. Good to see Lester is okay, but we were raking him prior to his departure. Joba looked good until that Papi pitch. Good showing by the best team in baseball
  6. DeLuca can hit 95. And you know better than anyone, this draft is a crock for the most part. It isnt about where you are drafted but its how big the bonus is. DeLuca signed for 500K, or late 2nd round money.
  7. Lane Meyer- a draft guru at nomaas.org, probably the best thing nomaas has going for them (the rest of the site is spoofy/comical, but nonsensical) gave the yankees draft class a B+ even while missing out on Aaron Meade, Tyler Lyons, and Chad Thompson on the pitching side and Andrew Aplin on the offensive side. http://www.nomaas.org/draft/ He's a really good draft analyst and has pointed out finds before they came true in prior year's drafts (a la DJ Mitchell in 2008 and a la Joba Chamberlain in 2006). For reference, he gave the 2008 draft class a B-, mostly since he gave the yankees credit for going after a signability case in Cole and also for some of the finds in the later rounds like Turley, Richardson and Joseph.
  8. I have said before that Kennedy will be a very good National League pitcher one day. He just needs to show enough in the AL East to be worth a trade to the NL. I think his ceiling in the AL East is a #4 or #5. I think his ceiling in the NL is a #2 or #3. Thing is, he is night and day between the minors and the majors. He has impeccable control in the minors, then misses everything in the bigs. If he gets over the mental hump, he'll be good and potentially useful in NY. But I think he ends up on the west coast one day and makes it as a good national league starter.
  9. He had a run of s*** last season which was my point. He may have turned a corner. But he is still essentially a rookie pitcher, meaning he is unpredictable
  10. He's a young pitcher with great stuff. He will throw up some stinkers and he will look dominant at times. Right now, he's on a really good run
  11. You may think he wont, but by you appearing in this thread you essentially seal the deal that Kennedy's gonna be good one day.
  12. do you ever get sick of eating crow? Cause, eventually, you will eat crow on this one too.
  13. Lester is your best pitcher right now. You have to see how Beckett pitches in the last 2 games, but he has been way too hittable of late. If it were up to me, I would start your best pitcher
  14. I dont expect his FB to be at his peak right now. I honestly think that the little stint he has in NY is more of a confidence booster than a true test to see if he can help in the playoffs
  15. If the yankees win today, then the magic number is down to 5. That means, the yankees can go 4-5 over the last 9 games and the sox would have to win every one of them to take the division. I agree with Girardi here. Get the guys ready for the dance. As for Burnett, he was really good today. Would have loved to see more length, but I understand why Girardi pulled him. Two good starts in a row is a nice thing to see from our #2 starter.
  16. no, but puppies and rainbows abound when you are the best team in baseball
  17. thats hit top. He is f***ing nasty
  18. I am not saying you arent getting Hardy. I actually think the sox will land him. But it wont be Doubrount and a bunch of s***. It is gonna cost more than most think, unless the sox eat a contract in the trade
  19. He's not even a sox prospect so the table doesnt apply there skippy. That being said, you are missing the point as usual. THEY DONT HAVE TO DEAL HIM. I think they will, but THEY DONT HAVE TO DEAL HIM. And stop pretending like you know anything about the Brewers prospects, cause you dont.
  20. Thats true. But at the same time, we still suck in Anaheim as evidenced by our ineptitude again last night vs Joe Fricking Saunders.
  21. Lowell will not be a starting 3b on any AL contender either due to his inadequacies in the field or his prohibitive cost. And it needs to be the AL since he needs to have the chance to DH when the hip acts up. The sox will get more out of Lowell by keeping him than they would in trade.
  22. Rosy red glasses...Take them off
  23. Weeks? You mean the guy who has barely held onto the 2b job then got injured for the season. Last I checked, he was in the discussion of being moved to the OF. Gamel is a 3b/1b who also plays some OF, and if Fielder gets moved, he could be the 1b for the Brewers. McGehee is a guy who earns a spot, but isnt given one. You just dont get it as usual. The Brewers have a long line of guys who havent earned s***, while Hardy actually had a good resume until he imploded this yr. They dont HAVE to move him.
  24. Over the last decade, we are 11-8 vs Boston in the playoffs with 2 series won vs one defeat. In that same time span, we are 3-6 vs Anaheim, losing both series. And, wouldnt it just be fun?
