  1. everything is getting smoked
  2. CC on regular rest can get you 8 innings and you can book it.
  3. 2 balls hit well, 2 outs. So is the game of baseball. You gotta get to Lackey early or else you are done.
  4. why game 6? You put CC on the hill on regular rest in Yankee stadium and I'll take that every time. Plus, Pettitte has been really frickin good.
  5. We need to stop the bleeding now. Burnett needs to find it and quick or this one will be over soon. Gotta wear down Lackey
  6. Oh boy, Burnett has nothing tonight. Get Gaudin warming. Save Burnett for later
  7. 3 runs in Anaheim with Lackey on the hill? This one is gonna hurt
  8. A type B FA is a completely non-detrimental assignment for the team signing the player. All that occurs is that the Giants would get a supplemental 1st rounder, while the sox lose nothing
  9. Pedro still has the movement, but everyone saw what he was against good AL lineups in 2004 when his FB was below his typical mid 90s gas. He was mediocre. That doesnt mean he wont come up with one game for the ages, which is always possible, but I am more worried about closing down the ALCS tonight and then trying to figure out a way to hit Cliff Lee for 2 games.
  10. Dipre, over these past few months, I have made being right a habit
  11. you dont see the spit hit the ball. It cuts away. And from that angle, he could have just been spitting off to the side
  12. he isnt "white" Dipre. He's arabic
  13. What I meant to say was that Kalish projects as a CFer. His swing reminds me of Ellsbury's, but he does have more power and less speed. But I dont see him getting a starting gig in Boston. He doesnt hit well enough to be a big market corner OFer, especially with the sox as currently constructed (since they need a lot of now production from the LF spot). And he's blocked at the CF position. Dispute that.
  14. Instead of calling me biased, debate my point. Go on, I am waiting
  15. Exactly. I thought that their drafts in 07, 08, and 09 were good. 08 better than 07, and 09 better than both. I said that top to bottom, the sox 2009 haul had the most raw talent of any other team that yr. But my point is that a lot of the sox best prospects are in the lower levels, a point that is echoed by many scouts and scouting services. Therefore, any massive deals would either require pulling from the current MLB team, OR completely gutting their upper levels of talent.
  16. I think their swings are very similar. I know he has some power and should develop more as his career goes on. My point is that Reddick does not currently profile as a COF in the majors, but with his total package, he could be a good CFer. But he is blocked. So, his value to the sox will be as a 4th OFer and will be more in trade than anything else. Plus, his debut in AAA was not terribly impressive and his overall line for 2009 in the minors... .245/.317/.446 with 75K in 81G is a bit underwhelming. Ellsbury clone? Yeah, probably not the right analogy. But he is a guy with good enough speed to make the plays in CF and more power than Ellsbury will have. But I dont see him having a future in Boston while Jacoby is still here. He wont be good enough to man LF or RF in Boston long term and he will be blocked in CF
  17. Because, typically, I am right when talking about the prospects, even though you guys like to pretend that I am not by using that table. Reddick has hit for some power in the minors, and should hit for more power than Ellsbury. I dont think his game translates to COF for a big market team. He looks like an average to potentially above average future CFer. But CF is blocked in Boston for the forseeable future with the above average Ellsbury (who I think has a chance to be a top 5 CFer if his patience returns) and I dont see Reddick taking a COF spot in a big market.
  18. Most lefties do have a natural tail, mostly because the majority of them come from a 3/4 arm slot. There are some that dont. CC being one. His 4 seamer has no movement at all.
  19. Thats the split dipre. The cutter is actually just as bad on the elbow as a fastball.
  20. And, I honestly think Mauer sticks with Minnesota through the season since the Twins made the playoffs without Morneau or Slowey down the stretch. Minny might value the playoff run in the new ballpark more than they value the prospects they get in return.
  21. Thats fine. We wont prevent the sox from trading for anyone. Hell, we wanted Schilling and Beckett, but the sox were aided by the DBags and gave up a s*** ton to the Marlins. So be it. The Yankees can make their bones in the FA market and fill some positions internally.
