  1. A pop fly over the monster is hit at least 310 feet. This was a foul pop.
  2. Not AJ's fault. That's an out everywhere else
  3. This stadium is a goddamn joke
  4. KC should be contracted. This team has Greinke, Soria and nothing else
  5. I think they were trying to avoid the DP
  6. I thinks he has some anxiety issues like a lot of young pitchers. It takes some experience to allow pressure to roll off your back
  7. I love Granderson btw. His combo of power and speed changes the game
  8. This is wrong, as usual. Philly gave up Drabek and Lee, which is plenty
  9. It's his first start of the season. Wait a month before killing him
  10. 58 pitches thru 3 for Buch
  11. Buch is throwing strikes, but he's just not finishing hitters
  12. AJ struggles with speedy runners on. Ever since the first, he's been solid. Impressed by the offensive approach too. Shields is dominant, but we got him out after 5.1IP
  13. Whoa, big blunder there. My bad.
  14. Thus far, couldnt be happier with the start of the season. We've had 2 solid pitching performances, 2 poor ones and one horrible one. The pen has been lights out except for game 1. While the offense hasnt been great, it has been pretty solid at getting runs home. Once they heat up, especially Johnson, Tex, and ARod, this lineup should be pretty sweet. Taking 3 out of 5 to start the yr vs the Sox and TB on the road is nice. Winning tonight would be icing on the cake going into a tough homestand. Facing Anaheim 6 times, Boston 3 times, Texas 3 times, and TB 3 times in the first month is a bit rough. 15 of our first 22 games are vs playoff contenders.
  15. So, seeing as it was created due to a lot of the Yankee talk, then there was a need for its creation. Regardless of what it was created for, you now have enough Yankee fans here to necessitate its use.
  16. Might be a whitewash. If Meche isnt back to his old self with his 94mph heater and that knee-buckling curve, the game might be over by the 3rd. Will be interesting to see what Buch will bring to the table
  17. Exactly, well put. NY had its payrolls in the 200+ mil range, but were getting second tier guys at above normal prices. I was upset when they shirked Vlad Guerrero for Gary Sheffield. When they didnt get RJ and instead went with Carl Pavano and Jaret Wright. I find it strange that the team with the most money chose 2 B level players instead of one A level player and maybe a B- player. That all stopped once they signed Tex and CC. Those guys are franchise players, in their prime and they decided not to pass on them and go the second tier route. It won them a championship. And with the farm system able to fill the holes with some B- level players who could turn into A's, that opens up the yankee checkbooks to sign A level performers to fill the holes.
  18. Cervelli called a great game. I watched him frame and I think Cervelli can improve his framing skills. Unless you've put on the tools of ignorance and actually tried to frame pitches, your opinion on the matter is meaningless. It is all in the wrists. It's not moving a pitch after its caught. It's catching it in a manner that expands the corners by a glove-length and flexing your wrist as your are catching it. Cervelli was deficient at times in that. But a good umpire usually isnt swayed by all frame jobs. For how much s*** you give him, Posada is excellent at framing pitches. His blocking skills are subpar, he calls a mediocre game and his mechanics in throwing out runners could improve, but his framing skills are really solid. Cervelli called a hell of a game and has superior blocking skills to anything Posada can muster. Regardless, pinning this game on Cervelli, good or bad is kinda dumb. CC was unhittable.
  19. alright guys, good night. Entertaining game until this inning.
  20. BTW, your team homerun leaders are Pedroia and Varitek. Who'd a thunk that?
  21. Wow. This pitcher sucks big floppy donkeydick.
