  1. Swisher back to being sucky. WTF?
  2. The grinding offense gets Feldman out in 2.1IP. Oh boy, bring on the soft Rangers pen.
  3. Robby starting to chase again. He needs to remember what got him to start out so hot
  4. 47 pitches through 3 for Burnett. Not bad, he's starting off well.
  5. Maybe that does it for Tex? Regardless, hell of an AB from Johnson. Kinda pissed at ARod. You have a guy on the ropes and you swing at the first pitch. Cmon man. Regardless, 2-0, nice way to start
  6. Gardy's speed keeps the inning going
  7. 36 pitches through 1.1IP. Sweet
  8. what the F? It is overcast, but it is not raining right now. Weird
  9. They run on Pettitte nowadays by going on first move. They get caught a few times, but most of the time, they take the base. All in all, I dont care if they dont throw out a lot of baserunners. All I want them to do is hold them enough and throw them out enough to keep them from running at all times. The problem is a bit worse with VMart since he can't throw ANd the sox arent holding the runners. Posada typically has to hold the ball because the pitchers do such a poor job of holding runners
  10. Not raining here, I live about 30 miles from Boston.
  11. Its easy against Burnett. He doesnt even try to hold runners
  12. I figure we could use this thread for in season rumors. I would assume that the sox would have a lot of rumors for the DH spot and the C spot this season. So here it is. The Mathis idea is interesting, although Scoscia loves him, even at the expense of Mike Napoli.
  13. Burnett vs Feldman. It's on.
  14. You really want to have a complete player at the catcher position, and while it is important, it isnt critical. Hell, Posada has been a full time catcher since 1999, and all we've done is win 3 championships and go to 5 world series in that time. And he's about as bad as they come in receiving. BUT, his offensive skills far outweigh his defensive deficiencies, making him more than worth it. VMart isn't a terrible catcher from a receiving standpoint. Maybe he doesnt call a good game, but that's on Francona if thats the solution. Then Terry can take it from him and call the pitches from the bench. But he is absolutely horrible in the throwing game. Will it kill the sox? Probably not, as long as VMart hits
  15. ESPN guns may have been juiced, but I remember Jon Miller talking about him hitting 98mph.
  16. That is my point Dipre. You don't diagnose these by XRay, they are notoriously bad at diagnosing rib fractures. You either get an XRay a week later (which can still miss a fracture) or a bone scan, which is the most sensitive. Regardless, it's all symptomatic management. Even if he broke the rib, if he can breathe and swing, then they'll let him play. Seeing as he cannot, my guess is he ends up on the DL
  17. The offense took advantage of some bad D. CC was in complete control throughout. A sloppy, but otherwise nice victory
  18. It's a safety issue. You cannot grip the ball as well and it might fly into the face of the hitter. Especially if he cannot see it well.
  19. They jump all over me when I make a logical, medical prediction. When it turns out that I'm right, nobody acknowledges that they were wrong.
  20. It was on ESPN
  21. Wow. That lineup sucks, watch as they put up 10 runs tonight
  22. Maybe he cracked a rib after all
  23. Abdominal pain could be one of many things, each of them presenting with classic or non-classic findings. Speculating would be wrong.
  24. I watched it too, and I distinctly remember him throwing a couple pitches 97 and 98mph.
