  1. Wrong as usual Dipre
  2. Dustin Pedroia shot a plane out of the sky by pointing at it and saying "BANG". He really did prove his leadership last night. The sox needed a big game to avoid a sweep while the Yanks were inactive and he came through in spades. I think he is the next one to get the C when Varitek leaves, although Youk has a claim too
  3. 9 baserunners in 5 innings is not respectable.
  4. Papelbon is an interesting beast. He was most effective when he elevated his fastball. Looked like it was coming down the middle, but ended up unhittable at the letters. Recently, hitters have been laying off his higher FB, forcing him to come into the zone with it. That's the thing about the bigs. Very few players can be 1 trick ponies, which is why Paps is breaking out his slider a bit more than I have seen it in the past. The problem is, his control isnt that great to begin with, and now that he has to come into the zone more often, he is being exposed to some degree
  5. Noesi isnt going to AAA anytime soon. Phelps is next in line for AAA. Warren, IMO, is the next logical choice for a callup to AA, but that would be when Phelps moves up
  6. rumor had it he was gonna be DFAd. Now, he's gonna be on the DL.
  7. Per rotoworld Can Theo break the rules any more? Tito already admitted that they put DiceK on the DL even though he wasnt really hurt (heard that on WEEI), they just needed the roster space. Now Lowell, who hasnt had any injuries this season that we know of, is being placed on the DL for god knows what. The players association typically files grievances for this, I have a feeling one is on the way
  8. You could see Nava's worth approaching Werth or Crawford? Really? Wow. Getting ahead of ourselves a wee bit now arent we?
  9. Yankees signed 3 today. Taylor "Jake" Anderson, Tyler "Chris" Austin and Dustin Hobbs, Anderson is a smooth swinging lefty HSer with a projectable frame and good speed Austin is a large framed HSer with plus power and contact potential. They love his hit attribute Hobbs sounds like an organizational arm. Soft throwing righty
  10. So far, he has looked really good. But so did Shane Spencer a decade ago. The thing that makes me think Nava could stick as a big league regular is his swing. It is just beautiful
  11. I think Papelbon, even in his currently reduced state, is still a top 10 closer. That being said, I think another glaring issue is the usage of Bard. He has appeared in 36 out of the sox 73 games. At that pace, he'd be around 80 games, which would surpass his previous high of 60 set last yr.
  12. Stretching him out then shortening him up only makes things worse in terms of injury potential.
  13. Before projecting if he has a chance, you need to see where he settles out. I have a feeling he is gonna get a ton of PT with Ellsbury being a ways away and with Cameron probably going down for an extended period of time soon (he looks terrible right now). So we'll see what kind of player he is.
  14. Mariano wanted to feel mortal for a second, then decided to return to being untouchable
  15. Db, the sox did miss a few opportunities, but in the end the game was yours. If someone told u prior to the game that Lackey vs Jimenez would come down to Paps in the game for a save situation I think u take it. Bottom line is Paps blew it
  16. I love his swing. Had no idea he had such a nice, even swing. I bet he settles out as a David Murphy type.
  17. Gardner has been a breath of fresh air on this team. And Granderson seems to be cracking his cold spell too
  18. tied this bitch up, 4-4
  19. But what signs of inconsistency? He had his best season last yr and has had a tale of two seasons thus far. You cannot make a judgement on this season in terms of his marketability until after the yr.
  20. That single wasnt his fault
  21. Mike Cameron needs to have the surgery and stop hurting the team. His defense is suffering and his offense has disappeared
