  1. I don’t think you’ll be fine. Sox pitching isn’t at the level of the yanks and the bridge to Barnes can’t hold water. You’ve been a .500 team since the aberrant early season 9 game streak and still haven’t played anyone good. What do you expect to happen when you play the 38 games vs Jays and Yanks? Also, even if the Sox somehow stay in contention come July, I seriously doubt Bloom spends prospect capital to acquire an upgrade. I said before the season that the Sox were a sub.500 team. They very well May end up that way
  2. 2021 baseball is about great pitching. It just is. You’re gonna get small leads and you have to hold them. Montgomery, German and Kluber have stabilized the rotation behind Cole with Taillon showing well in his last two starts. Severino is ahead of schedule and can jump in in about 2 months for anyone hurt or struggling. The pen, aside from the two hiccups in a row to Houston and Washington, has been absolutely lights out without arguably their best pitcher in Britton. Essentially, if our pen gets a lead, we win. I expect us to add offense. Either Torres hits or he moves to Colorado for Story. Either Frazier and Hicks start to hit or we go out and get another OFer. The holes in this team right now are not the most expensive to fix (pitching) at the deadline
  3. When was the last time Degrom gave up 4 runs? Or gave up a lead? Degrom’s issue is that they don’t score for him. Not that he gives up a lot of runs.
  4. ERod showed tonight that he’s no ace. Aces stop losing streaks and extend winning streaks. The Sox pitching has been excellent by 2020 standards, but have fallen short of 2021 playoff team standards. With the Yanks and Jays surging, it’ll end up being the pitching that’ll win this division, and the Yanks have that this year for sure. The Rays are paper tigers. In a year of light hitting, they aren’t hitting anything. Epically bad
  5. Yanks caught the Sox in the L column. Tomorrow they might catch them in games back
  6. Can’t hit for s*** but Cole is a beast. Another victory!
  7. 4 for 10 with a homer. He just moved to AAA
  8. There was an analysis that Castigs was talking about on Monday’s telecast that showed the lighter ball increases spin rate. High spin rate fastballs appear to rise (they actually just don’t fall as fast). Higher spin rate breaking balls move more. Even if it’s just an inch, it’s massively impactful. At these high velocities, you’re not tracking ball to bat just with your vision. These guys are swinging off muscle memory and their eyes track where to swing. The problem is, their eyes and their muscle memory is telling them to swing slightly lower than where the ball is actually going. It should take time, but eventually the hitters should adjust
  9. It seems the dead ball is separating the great from the good. The greats are still killing it. The good hitters have fallen off the map
  10. So nice you had to post it twice?
  11. Good pitching shuts down the good hitting. When the sox dont get offense from their big 4 of Verdugo, JD, Xander, and Devers, they don't win. 2 for 13 and a solo shot aint gonna cut it. Bassitt was really good. Eovaldi was really good, but the pen failed him
  12. Yanks win! Montgomery was awesome. 2 homers and a shutout pen. Chapman was wincing and lost some velo in the middle of the innings, but recovered. Hope it isnt serious whatever it is cause he has been lights out
  13. Until Kike or Arroyo come back. I think he ends up in AAA once one of those guys return
  14. strange to go to Loaisiga for 2 today with a rested pen
  15. sorry, not meant for here
  16. A's pen slightly worse than the sox in terms of ERA
  17. The one good side effect of the dead baseball is the games are far shorter
  18. Montgomery dominated again.
  19. They're not missing, Cora making the right move to pull him
  20. Darwinzon cannot locate again
  21. And Sanchez went yard. Sanchez went oppo too which is interesting. If Sanchez can go oppo, he will return to a great hitter
  22. The guy gets 2 hits a series vs us and they're always homers
  23. Why the f*** is Sanchez starting?
  24. They're not even a top 10 pen right now. You expect they will get better?
