  1. lineup is in Coco Youk Ortiz Ramirez Tek Lowell Nixon Gonzo Cora
  2. exactly what i though when i saw the newsday story, but I think we have a shot
  3. hooray! we still have a shot
  4. THat is what i am trying to say. I think Van Buren has the ability to be a closer and that is what he is bred to do, I think it could help our rotation tremendously, much more than it might weaken the pen
  5. Isn’t it almost too late to be experimenting, especially with something (Paps) that’s working flawlessly? Well, I'm not saying it is absolutely necessary, but the bottom of the rotation is definitely not working flawlessly, and if this solidifies that while not hurting the pen too much, why not?
  6. you know, this may sound a bit out there, but Van Buren, who just came up, was AAA player of the year in the Cubs organization last year. He set a club record with Iowa with 25 saves in a season. He looked good in that first outing. Maybe we could experiment with him at closer to get Paps into the rotation. I love him at closer, but he could be our best option for the rotation. So far with the Pawsox, he has 6 saves in 11 outings. 15.1 innings with 17 Ks and a 1.17 ERA
  7. isnt he a righty, that could be a good move against the Blue Jays over Alvarez
  8. that is a little out of the blue, he seems like quite the underdog to get the start
  9. definitely, but now we need to seriously think about the holes in our rotation, what to do with Clement, etc, Roger isnt coming back to put a bandaid on it
  10. that is probably 5 mil less than the Sox offered!
  11. hes goin for 10.5 mil
  12. my take is that Meche is not a good option, Lohse got sent to AAA he sucked so bad, and we aren't going to get that guy from anywhere else unless we give up a very good prospect. I would like to try and see if any of our relievers could start, or bring up Lester
  13. we have only had 4 at-bats go past 3 pitches that counted
  14. Lester yes, but Roger is like a TV cliff hanger, you always have to wait until next week
  15. dont give up on this game
  16. Personally, I think Delcarmen needs a little more work, especially with control. I would like to see him go down to AAA, promote Lester. Delcarmen has very good stuff, but it is all over the place
  17. I definitely like Van Buren, but Theo should already be on the phone before other GMs notice the box score
  18. I could be wrong, but I think it is a former announcer who died
  19. Halladay isnt effected by being behind in the count
  20. news on Celtics draft http://www.nba.com/celtics/news/draft-central/draft-workouts-marcus-williams.html
  21. Gomes could start by midseason
  22. you know, I like the Williams pick better than Roy. Roy is kind of like Pierce. WE need a really solid ball-handler, west is just an outside shooter
  23. its almost definitely a way to ease Coco into the lineup, not put much pressure on him
  24. good point, take a look at Dontrelle Willis, he is losing himself some money
