I would rather see another 1st round loss to the wild card team.
The Tigers are a very well rounded team, similar to last year's White Sox. They have a great rotation 1-5, there is no given day where Tigers fans think they cannot win (we've got 3). Their playoff rotation will be: Rogers, Verlander, Bonderman, and Robertson, a very good rotation. They have a great offense, 1-9, with no easy out. When your #9 hitter has 21 homers in August, something is right (don't mention the .243 average, just do not). They have a spunky leadoff hitter, Granderson, a perfect 2 hitter when Polanco returns, if he does, Magglio Ordonez is having a great year after injuries, and after getting Sean Casey, they now also have Dmitri Young back. Their bullpen is strong, with Zumaya, who should close, Rodney, a quality 2nd setup man. Todd Jones is not a very good closer, with an ERA in the 4's, but he gets the job done, with 34 saves. He has the mental toughness to do it, being a veteran. And, might I add, a poor sportswriter. They have a good manager in Jim Leyland, who, similar to Jack McKeon of the 2003 Marlins, is old, and has been out of managing for a decent amount of time.
Prediction: Yankees, Tigers, Athletics, Twins in the AL, Mets, Cardinals, Dodgers, Reds in the NL.
Twins and Tigers in the ALCS, Mets and Dodgers in the NLCS.
Tigers over Mets in the World Series, 4 games to 2.
