  1. Injuries are unpredictable, they can happen to anyone. We've put ourselves in a damn good position to overcome injuries with our lead. Anyways, if a starter gets injured, here are our backups: 1. Julian Tavarez (when Jon Lester returns) 2. Kason Gabbard 3. Devern Hansack 4. David Pauley 5. Daniel Haigwood Tavarez has been solid in the 5th spot, Gabbard was good in his only start this year, and uhh hopefully we don't have to use Hansack. Pauley sucked last year. Haigwood is on the 40 man roster, was acquired from Texas this year. For relievers, we have: Craig Breslow Manny Delcarmen Craig Hansen Edgar Martinez Kyle Jackson Emergency position players: C-George Kottaras-Solid prospect, has great plate discipline. But as we learned in 01 and 06, we cannot lose Tek. He is crucial to this team. 1B-Eric Hinske-Already with the team. No prospects are close to the big club. 2B-Alex Cora-Would start if Pedroia got hurt. Jeff Natale, Jed Lowrie are waiting in the wings. 3B-Kevin Youkilis-Would play 3rd if Lowell got hurt, and Hinske would move to 1st. Chad Spann is waiting in the wings. OF-WMP, Hinske-The obvious 2 backup options. Brandon Moss and David Murphy are the first two minor league options, as I doubt they want Ellsbury up so soon.
  2. Are they gonna put an outfielder at DH and play Melky?
  3. Didn't realize we had 2 supps. I'll check in time to time.
  4. Say Dice throws 220 innings this year. He keeps his pace of 1 HR/9 IP up. That means he allows 24 over the season. Which is the same amount as Johan Santana. It's slightly above average, but it's not horrible.
  5. Beckett is Monday. By the way, in the middle game of the series at Arizona, the matchup is Tavarez vs. Randy Johnson, possibly the two ugliest players ever. Can't wait.
  6. Youkilis Drew Ortiz Ramirez Lowell Varitek Pena Pedroia Lugo
  7. The Angels fans need a monkey to get going. They come late and leave early. At least the Yankees fans actually care.
  8. Tough loss tonight but ya can't win em all. 2 of 3 vs. Cleveland is still good. Matsuzaka never really seemed right with his stuff. He muddled through the first 4 but couldn't do it in the 5th and 6th. Byrd was really efficient until the 7th when he just crashed. Luckily his bullpen bailed him out. Coco Crisp still sucks. JC Romero still sucks. That is all.
  9. I have absolutely no idea why I thought England. Apologies.
  10. The best news today is most definitely that the Red Sox are the best team in baseball. Not a rumor that WMP might be traded. Get your priorities right adam. What happened to if it ain't broke, don't fix it?
  11. Crowd volume does not determine level of player's skill.
  12. Lenny DiNardo will pitch for the A's on Monday night. Cool!
  13. Eh Sox don't have a 1st round pick, making the fact that its televised less cool.
  14. Sox win. We're good. 36-15 record, Beckett up to 8-0. Youk homered, Okajima saved it, Javier Lopez has been very nice lately. Tomorrow we go for the 2nd straight sweep. I'll be there. I LOVE THIS TEAM!
  15. I dunno why I did this, but I checked Yahoo Sports. They don't have Ellsbury minor league stats. They only do majors. Thumper definitely did not check the stats. 1 down.
  16. I guarantee you would not send him 500 dollars.
  17. Lopez is the shiznat. Gets out of the 8th, 4-2 after 7 1/2.
  18. I wouldn't mind losing this game if Thumper really did all that s***. It'd be totally worth it. But since he won't...win.
  19. Lidge is supposdely settling in very nicely to a setup role in Houston. His stuff is really nasty, I doubt they give him up.
  20. Lester has been great, but I'm all for giving him as much time as needed. Tavarez has been rock solid lately in the 5 slot, and with Beckett back the rotation is full. Maybe give him 2-3 more rehab starts, then bring him up and see how he does? I think Tavarez would be a very effective middle reliever considering his numbers against the opposing lineups the first time around.
  21. Would you like Brandon Moss or David Murphy? Seriously, Ellsbury is our best hitting prospect. He's a center fielder. Our worst player right now is our starting center fielder. It doesn't get more obvious than that.
  22. Jacoby Ellsbury will be manning CF next year if the world is right.
