  1. I don't think so.
  2. Possibly, if he is healthy. He only hit 30+ once, when he hit 31 in 2004 with 518 AB, the only time he had 500+. I'm not sure he could do it with ease.
  3. I don't mind the signing. He's better than Hinske, and he will have his role, minus the outfield spots. That will be for Moss and the loser of the Crisp/Ellsbury competiton, if Crisp stays. Last year: .296/.353/.393, 4 HR, 54 RBI in 453 at bats. Obviously he won't get nearly that many at bats, but the average numbers should be about the same, which is very solid for a bench player. His glove is also very impressive, a nice improvement over Hinske. I give it a Coco's Disciples Thumbs Up.
  4. Yes, because he's a bench player. You need to have the right expectations for guys. You can't expect a Cora to mash.
  5. Cora's the man. Don't hate.
  6. Its probably just because thats what the score is at the beginning of the game.
  7. My numbers are tough. I have Pats 9 Giants 1, Pats 5 Giants 8, Pats 6 Giants 0, Pats 8 Giants 2. Maybe a 6-0 Pats lead after 1?
  8. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3224591 He'll compete for the 1B job.
  9. Kurt Warner, Super Bowl 34 against the Titans. 414 yards?
  10. According to Pittsburgh Tribune-Review writer Mike Seate. http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburghtrib/opinion/columnists/seate/s_549705.html And a nice breakdown from Fire Joe Morgan, where I found the article: http://www.firejoemorgan.com/ It's the one titled "Honestly One Of The Weirdest Things I Have Ever Read". And it really is. EDIT: Maybe this belongs in General Off Topic. A mod can move it if they so desire.
  11. 1. Crisp will be traded. For what, I really don't know. Prospects perhaps, maybe another reliever but I doubt it. 2. Yes, I think Kielty is gone. 3. I'd be surprised not to see Lowrie at some point this year, especially if Lugo struggles. September call up for sure, maybe sooner.
  12. .280/.390/.470 20 HR 80 RBI
  13. This is already being discussed in the Johan Santana thread.
  14. I'm pleased too. We get to keep Ellsbury and Lester and the Yankees don't get him.
  15. Now where does Crisp end up?
  16. I know, I linked to it.
  17. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/baseball/2008-01-29-twins-mets-santana_N.htm
  18. They won't.
  19. God I'm sick of this s***.
  20. A Felix Hernandez/Erik Bedard 1-2 punch is very exciting. Still got the Angels in the West though.
  21. Sounds great. Thanks for doing this again SFOC.
  22. I overslept. By the time I woke up it wasn't even worth checking.
  23. I remember looking at his numbers a little while ago and being very surprised. More interceptions than touchdowns in his career. You're right, that one game makes him a household name and a legend. While true, I don't think that is what makes Super Bowl 3 an upset, even though it was.
