  1. I don't even think the Angels are the better team, and if they are it's not by much. In terms of pythag we beat them by 7 games. They have exactly the same home record as road, and I think if we can win 1 of the first 2, we got it in the bag.
  2. Most predictions had these teams in 4th place in their respective divisions, but both won theirs. The White Sox, World Champs from just 3 years ago, came back from a 72 win season last year to win their division in a tiebreaker. The Rays, never having a season with more than 70 wins in franchise history, shocked the world to win the toughest division in baseball. The Rays are heavily favored in the series, which begins tomorrow. http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g96/ShockedSim/ALDS_logo.png http://tbn0.google.com/images?q=tbn:MCDg6qwbGrBnYM:http://plusmo.com/mobile/apps/user/ChicagoWhiteSox.jpgChicago White Sox @ http://tbn0.google.com/images?q=tbn:HyUCWbJl22p1cM:http://assets.espn.go.com/i/teamlogos/mlb/sml/tam.gifTampa Bay Rays RAYS WIN SERIES 3-1 Series begins Thursday Game Matchup Day Date Time ET Pitching Matchup Gm 1 CWS @ TB Thu Oct. 2 2:30 PM CWS: Javier Vazquez (12-16, 4.67) TB: James Shields (14-8, 3.56) RAYS WIN 6-4 Gm 2 CWS @ TB Fri Oct. 3 6:00 PM CWS: Mark Buehrle (15-12, 3.79) TB: Scott Kazmir (12-8, 3.49) RAYS WIN 6-2 Gm 3 TB @ CWS Sun Oct. 5 4:00 TB: Matt Garza (11-9, 3.70) CWS: John Danks (12-9, 3.32) WHITE SOX WIN 5-3 Gm 4 TB @ CWS Mon Oct. 6 5:00 TB: Andy Sonnanstine (13-9, 4.38) CWS: Gavin Floyd (17-8, 3.84) RAYS WIN 6-2
  3. 2 hitter through 8, very impressive. 3-0 still.
  4. I understand having a third catcher ready to be added to the roster for the following round if a catcher gets hurt, but really is it worth wasting a roster spot on the risk of 2 catchers getting hurt in 5 games?
  5. Hamels no hitter through 4.
  6. I think he's saying that the money makes little difference since the Sox are so wealthy.
  7. He was doing well for the first 2 until kind of collapsing in the 3rd. Villanueva is warming.
  8. He had the ball, so he should have caught it. And yeah, Hamels is filthy so far.
  9. s***** play by Cameron leads to 2 runs, threatening for more in the 3rd. EDIT: RBI walk, 3-0 Phils.
  10. That's correct, as far as I know.
  11. I got the Phils by at least 5 in this one.
  12. He's not a free agent.
  13. I'd like to play the postseason first, please.
  14. IMO the East is going to be a hectic 4 team race next year. Anything could happen.
  15. Great game, congrats to the White Sox, good luck against the Rays. For the record, I wouldn't have had Blackburn go out for the 7th against Thome, Griffey, etc.
  16. Dammit, Twins offense!
  17. AJ Pierzynski bugs the s*** out of me.
  18. Concur'd. I also might be going to that game, and if I do, I'll definitely be checking out Beckett's warmup.
  19. I can't be the only one watching this. Great game so far, scoreless through 5 1/2.
  20. *Strolls into thread* ...Oh god, not another Gom complaint thread. *Runs out*
  21. Yeah, the coinflip is pretty stupid.
  22. Looks like they handed out black jackets before the game-basically everyone has the same one.
  23. Nick Blackburn (11-10, 4.14 ERA) vs. John Danks (11-9, 3.47)
