  1. Zambrano's gonna need to bring it tomorrow if they want to move on.
  2. The Rockies came into the playoffs red hot. They didn't make the WS because they won the one game playoff, they did because they won 22/23 or something. Your Sox were 12-15 in September, on the other hand.
  3. Truth. There's this kid in my math class who literally wears a Sox shirt every day, and even he said he won't watch past the 3rd. Some people need to get their priorities straight.
  4. Right, none of whom are on the postseason roster. I'd take September team bullpen stats with a grain of salt.
  5. That I cannot answer, though in September he was pretty bad, not including the no-hitter. Dempster has had a better year and a better September.
  6. Dodgers add insurance, 6-2. Jesus Christ, Chicago.
  7. Well you have Masterson, who was filthy in the second half and wasn't even in the bullpen in the first half. Okajima's ERA dropped by over a half a run in the second half. Papelbon's ERA lowered by about a quarter of a run in the second half. Delcarmen had a complete change, with a 1.82 ERA in the 2nd half and a .502 OPS. So yes, the bullpen's big 4 all improved their numbers in the second half (don't have team bullpen 1st/2nd half splits, as ORS said).
  8. Lowe done after 6 innings, 2 runs, in line for the win. Some Wade fella in for the 7th. EDIT: Apparently I should know who Wade is. Cory Wade, 2.27 ERA and 0.93 WHIP in 71 1/3 IP this year.
  9. An hour til game time, guys and gals. Don't you dare go to sleep during the game!
  10. You're right that once you get to the playoffs, you have a 1 in 8 chance to win the WS. Anything can happen, look at the 2006 Cardinals. However, team's talent plays a role, obviously, and the Rays are a better team than the White Sox. 9 more wins, but more importantly, .7 runs more per game than their opponents, as opposed to .5 for Chicago. TB has much better pitching too.
  11. MBM, 5-2.
  12. I agree. Same should go for the World Series.
  13. Hey don't get me wrong, I'd rather face you guys than the Rays. We'd get homefield, and the Rays are better than you. So go ChiSox, I guess.
  14. Indeed he did, sir. Enjoy getting crushed at the Trop.
  15. Best lineup we have right there. Actually, maybe Ellsbury shouldn't be first. But still, good order IMO.
  16. That's it for Dempster after 4 2/3. He really was teetering, nearly got out of the 5th, instead its a wreck.
  17. Wowza, with 2 strikes and 2 outs in the 5th, James Loney grand slam.
  18. Boston bullpen: 4.00 ERA, .707 OPS Los Angeles bullpen: 3.69 ERA, .709 OPS
  19. Manny GIDP in the first. Teehee.
  20. More baseball!
  21. Phils win Game 1. Good thing for them, cause Sabathia's going tomorrow.
  22. Tying run at 2nd. Will Lidge's playoff nightmares return? Did Pujols sneak into his room at night and whisper in his ear?
  23. Tying run at the plate in Prince Fielder.
