  1. ^ Ortiz might be more Body Made for Steroids. Oh snap!
  2. Holland's quietly piecing together a nice game. Just overshadowed by Lester.
  3. In an interview he said that he really doesn't want to pitch against Atlanta, so the Sox might consider that. Especially if we haven't resolved the rotation (if there are still six starters). EDIT: Though we play the Braves the week after as well, it might be hard to avoid them.
  4. Um, holy s***. Lester looks amazing.
  5. Smoltz supposed to return 6/16 vs. Marlins, per Heidi.
  6. Impressive stuff by Holland...Pedroia got completely gassed.
  7. I'm surprised how long Remy's been out. Eck has been entertaining though. I don't really love Remy so much as an announcer, it's just weird not hearing him every night.
  8. Lester's looking damn nice.
  9. Yes I agree that it's a solid value. I would grab an OF prospect later.
  10. I feel like Lee's decline is going to be a pretty quick one--though I agree he should be productive through 2010 or so, I think because of conditioning and injuries he may fall off a cliff.
  11. Anyone watching the Dodgers-Phils? Juan Pierre's pretty lucky there...tying run on 2nd with 2 outs, someone hits a pop up and he assumes it's out of play, and it just barely lands foul. Could have been caught, also could have tied the game.
  12. yankees228 on the clock.
  13. Holland's a nice prospect, 40th in BP's ranking. He's a good powerful lefty but apparently hasn't developed his secondary pitches so well.
  14. On the bright side they did have the Nathan/Liriano trade. But back to the Young situation, one thing that really baffles me is his resistance to the Twins staff. From what I've read, they're trying really hard to work with him on his problems (of course, they basically have to), and he refuses any help. Part of it may be his mother's death, as his OPS is in the .300s since that happened, but it's not like he was playing well before that.
  15. And we're just as lucky this weekend without Hamilton...hopefully we can take 2/3 to capitalize on that.
  16. Thought this was the most appropriate thread for this, but...what the f*** happened to Delmon Young? His WARP is at the point right now where it would be as valuable for Minnesota to replace him with a league average player as it would to replace that league average player with Justin Upton. They can't send him back to AAA without putting him on waivers (where he would be claimed), so he's stuck in the show. His line is .231/.272/.265 right now, which is probably the worst line in the majors right now, even worse than Ortiz. His K rate almost doubled this year from his career line (35%), he doesn't walk, his BABIP is .347, so he's actually been lucky so far. The Twins are in a pickle here.
  17. Yeah Gameday actually does show break.
  18. Keeper on da clockzzzzzz
  19. Was gonna get Burnett, went with Vazquez as my backup. I like him as a back end starter.
  20. Via PM, TheKilo selects Aaron Rowand
  21. That was our chance in the 8th. Bummer.
  22. Now he's just clogging the bases. 5-1, let's go bitches.
  23. Math Level 2 and Literature. Not too worried, just annoyed I have to wake up at 6:30. But after that, my only standardized test left in HS is the AP Stat exam next year. Let's goooooo.
