  1. Wasn't Howard Bryant the driving force in creating public disdain and clubhouse turmoil regarding a fairly inane bumper sticker Mike Timlin had in his locker a few years back?
  2. I was hoping he's come back in 2010 and be a 3B....wtf?
  3. Yo, B-Mat...getting awfully cocky with me after one day of play this week. Watch out for the guns....they'll get ya.
  4. I know the answer to that... I hate this girl who cut my hair and did a s***** job the other day but she had a serious ass and nice rack and I wish I could get into her. So it is possible to wish you could get into something you hate.
  5. The B's aren't as bad as they have looked. They also aren't (and weren't) as good as they seemed last year. They overachieved last season, they're more like a 4 or 5 seed, which means if they play out their asses they can be near the top of the conference but if they play below their ability they could be scrapping for a playoff spot. I think they'll right the ship and end up about where they belong...but I don't see them as a Cup contender.
  6. Drew's 2009 campaign is really quite similar to his career averages, save for the fact that he managed 137 games (vs career avg of arouund 120). The guy is a nice player, no doubt. He brings a lot to the table in terms of helping his team win, both offensively and defensively. I like him and always have, BUT... What most of his detractors have focused on is his inability to stay healthy and the fact that the Sox are paying $14m per year for a guy with whom there are legitimate concerns regarding how many games he'll play each season. This may never change and IMO is part of the equation when measuring a player's value. While I like the guy, I don't see how anyone can protest the comments regarding his health and time spent on the field as these are real concerns.
  7. Jon Quick...hailing from nearby Hamden, Ct. If LA can be decent, he'll get some W's
  8. That's how I built my team last year...I had Brodeur, Lundquist and Thomas. In most fantasy leagues the goalies provide close to 40% of your points each week, makes snese to focus on goalies. This year I had #1 overall pick, took Ovechkin...had to of course. By the time I picked again (23 picks later!) there wasn't much left in goal but had to jump on one, so I took Cam Ward. Now I'll be rooting for Carolina this year...and I've hated them since they played in a mall in Hartford.
  9. Hey B.Mat....you know where to go for draft help...did I mention I'm the defending champ? mooohahahhaahahahahahahaha!
  10. Somewhere, likely in a hospital lavatory stall, an over-exuberant Yankee fan sits, pants around ankles, meat in hand, analyzing the latest Yankee's draft and minor league news, then spews on Austin Jackson's photo, while uttering "Deangelo Mack, Ream my crack"
  11. heatley's wraparound? what's there to say?
  12. Right...they got beaten by Carolina because they weren't as good as their regular season record. Phil Kessel or not, this team is not a Stanley Cup contender, IMO. Their issues get no easier in the next year or two with Savard a UFA next year and RFAs in Wheeler, Lucic, Stuart and Rask.
  13. dominated shmominated. I was off to a great start, then Brodeur got hurt and missed 75% of the season and the Mullets fell back a bit but still finished 2nd. I was simply peaking for the playoffs, my boy.
  14. I'm Melrose Mullets.....uh....defending champion. I thank you.
  15. I'm in
  16. Anyone gonna start up another hockey league this year?
  17. I heard Babson has some open dates next February that they were looking to fill but most of the NL is ducking them. Smoltz gets smoked repeatedly in the AL and looks liek a fkn champ in his first NL start? I was always a huge Smoltz fan....but maybe I gave him too much credit???? What up Sean? Been a while since I've visited.
  18. Translation? Yankees would pay $70m
  19. Agreed...and the fact that they did NOT acquire Halliday or any other top available pitcher says to me that the FO felt that such a move did not necessarily bring them that much closer to a title...thus they did not mortgage the future.
  20. right...cuz Smoltz and Penny and Bucholz have been absolutely stellar of late.
  21. Absulotely plausible and in reality that's the easy answer. But, like I said, PERHAPS the FO was equally concerned that this team could falter even with Halliday in the mix...then the trade is a lose/lose proposition.
