  1. Score 15 and bring in Tavarez.
  2. HE HAS HUGE BALLS. OMG NICE WORK KID.
  3. Nice, one more kid.
  4. 105 pitches? It was the right call. It's a shame MDC is s***ing the bed.
  5. God f***ing damnit.
  6. Looked like he got the hit off the far end of the bat. Just a stinger, I think.
  7. Need strikes, MDC.
  8. Yes. Curt's over 100 pitches, and clearly doesn't have his best stuff. Going to the pen here is the right answer.
  9. Nice work, Curt. Hit the showers.
  10. Guys, it wouldn't kill you to take some pitches.
  11. Welcome to the big leagues, rook.
  12. Boom goes the dynamite. edit - x2. Good for Nixon.
  13. Manny's been hustling more this year, but that's brutal.
  14. Yay for singles hitters.
  15. And do nothing in the playoffs.

  17. Neither is Sammy "I Sprain my back when I sneeze" Sosa, but then again he's been MIA for a while.
  18. He missed last night's game because of that. He's out tonight, too?
  19. Schilling also has better command than Papelbon, and has begun to throw more off speed pitches later in his career. As for the "wicked slider", I haven't seen it with any consistency to show me it's an out pitch, and I've never seen him throw a breaking ball.
  20. OT, but am I the only one here who has reservations about Papelbon as a starter? I don't think he has the off-speed pitch for it, and I think he may be better suited to remain in the closer's role.
  21. Red Sox send Schilling out to face A's Boston (60-38) at Oakland (51-48), 10:05 p.m. ET By Ian Browne / MLB.com Curt Schilling used to match victories with Randy Johnson, and, for one memorable and historic season, Pedro Martinez. Now Josh Beckett is the teammate that keeps Schilling striving for more. One day after Beckett posted win No. 13 over the A's, Schilling will try to do the exact same thing. Schilling has won his last two starts and his been Boston's best starting pitcher all year. The Red Sox are 2-2 on this six-game road trip through Seattle and Oakland. Boston knows how precious wins are right now. "In our division, the way the American League is working right now, you've got to win a lot of games because there's a lot of teams that are fighting to win the division and going for the Wild Card," said Sox first baseman Kevin Youkilis. Pitching matchup BOS: RHP Curt Schilling (12-3, 3.50 ERA) Schilling heads to the mound with momentum after his last win, a seven-inning effort against the Rangers on Thursday. He allowed a season-high 10 hits and four runs, but walked just one while striking out six. Schilling has worked at least seven innings in four of his past five starts and has gone at least six in each of his last 12 starts. The last time Schilling faced Oakland, he shut out the A's on two hits over seven innings in a 7-0 win July 15 at Fenway Park. OAK: RHP Jason Windsor (0-0, 1.80 ERA) Windsor's two-out throwing error led to two unearned runs, and the A's 0-for-11 performance with runners in scoring position cost the right-hander a victory in his first Major League start on July 17. Windsor allowed five hits and walked three before leaving after five innings with a pitch count of 86. Player to watch Right fielder Trot Nixon comes in rested after not starting the last two games against left-handed pitchers.
  22. He likes to have his bases covered. It appears that this may just in fact be a rumor. http://www.metsblog.com/blog/_archives/2006/7/24/2158882.html
