  1. I'd watch out for the Rockets when Yao comes back.
  2. Schilling can earn his extension. There are just too many health questions surrounding him. Again, the front office owes Schilling, and the fans, nothing.
  3. I call ********. Curt Schlling is starting up a video game company, where is he going to get the capital from that? I really don't think Curt Schilling is going to walk away from $13 million. If he earns it, give it to him. If not, you can let go. Why does the FO owe Schilling anything? They're in this business to make money, not invest in someone who can't get it done anymore. Anyone who has ever taken an accounting class knows what a sunk cost is. Investing in a Curt Schilling that pitches the way he did in the second half last year is a sunk cost. I'm rooting for Schilling to do an excellent job this season. I just don't see why the front office owes anyone anything.
  4. A question do all you people who are doing the hand-wringing. Why does the FO owe more to Schilling than they did to Pedro?
  5. It was assured JD Drew was the best RF available. Signing him made the Red Sox better. (Although even I think 5 yrs is too long) It was assured Julio Lugo was the best SS available. Signing him made the Red Sox better. Is it assured that signing Curt Schilling now makes the Red Sox better? There is risks with every signing. Why not let Schilling prove his worth instead of handing over a contract to him when they didn't do it for Pedro/Lowe/Damon/etc.?
  6. If this is a pick 'em pool, I'm in.
  7. ...........................................................................................
  8. What if Schilling posts numbers comparable to his second half last year? Is the $13 million investment smart then? If he pitches well, they'll sign him for a couple extra million in the offseason. If he sucks, then let one of the kids take over.
  9. http://sonsofsamhorn.net/index.php?s=&showtopic=15245&view=findpost&p=637656 Know who Gehrig38 is?
  10. LOL OH MAN YOU GOT ME.
  11. Way to completely dodge the issue, Jacko.
  12. Check the fights and crap forum for my new thread.
  13. Don't forget the curtain calls. I heard he got one last year for taking a s*** during the 7th inning stretch.
  14. His gay what?
  15. STOP. MAKING. THREADS.
  16. lol Then why were Trot Nixon and Albert Pujols out so long with oblique injuries? Because they are a tremendous part of a swing and take a while to heal. You really can't rehab them, if I remember correctly. Just because your wrists get a strenuous workout every day doesn't mean they are the most vital parts of a hitter's swing.
  17. They don't want Trot Nixon version 2.0?
  18. Grady Sizemore is a good player, but he shouldn't be in this discussion.
  19. What 1B has speed?
  20. I'll be in.
  21. How is it any different than what you do? You get boners over every marginal prospect the Yankees pick up. You use conjecture rather than back up your arguments with numbers. http://www.loc.gov/exhibits/oliphant/oa048.jpg
  22. Comparing Damon's credibility to Mo's is a bit of a stretch. I respect the hell out of Mo, and never really did for Damon. Even when he was here.
