1. Schilling was absolutely awful. I think he can turn it around fairly quickly, but we'll have to see. I will say that these types of games are what would make me wary of committing upwards of $13 million to him.
2. For all of the hand-wringing of the bullpen, 2 runs in 5 isn't awful. At least they didn't lose us the game.
3. Varitek, IMO, looks cooked.
4. I think Crisp and Lugo will have decent years. If Crisp even sniffs his '04 numbers I'll be ecstatic.
5. The offense needs to work counts more. After the first inning I thought they'd be able to do that, but they failed to do so for the rest of the game. With a lumbering Schilling on the mound, that's a recipe for disaster.
