    Good point - sinkerballers need to throw in their consistent spot or they will struggle. The ball stays too high in the zone otherwise. Remember Dlowe on short rest in '04?

    Boston has the advantage of having a 6 game lead which could allow them to get those guys rest before the playoffs. The Yanks will probably clinch later than Boston, leaving them less time to rest.

    Fielding percentage does not take range into factor, and is probably the worst stat of measuring what makes a good defense. So I would say no, Wang does not make them better on defense.

    First off, you're an idiot. Second off, Carlos Pena barely made the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. He got cut then invited back when greg Norton got hurt in Spring Training. To bash Theo for letting him go when he barely f***ing made the team is hindsight at best. Youkilis has had a decent year. Oh and we're only paying him close to the league minimum, and he still has an .850 OPS. Cora and Schilling I won't disagree with you, not based on Schilling's performance (which was OK) but for the fact it'd cost them $15 mil to re-sign him.

    Yanks and Sox perform as expected. Red Sox: Predicted - 85-55 Actual - 84-56 (-1) Yankees: Predicted - 77-63 Actual - 78-62 (+1) Sox could really pick up some games this weekend, I have them going 2-2 against the O's but if Bedard isn't pitching 3 wins should be expected. I won't call a sweep. Yanks on the road in KC, is it too much to ask for the RoyAAAAls to win one game?

    So do I, but Joba needs one more pitch to be an effective starter, doesn't he? IMO, Buchholz's three plus pitches (OK, two plus and a decent fastball) mean more as a starter than Joba's heat and slider? Am I off in thinking this way? Because of that I give Buchholz the slight edge.
