Preliminary thoughts this week:
CIN @ KC - At first glance you'd like Cincy in this game, but you have to factor in how difficult Arrowhead is to play in. At 2-3, the Chiefs are not out of the AFC West picture yet, and Cincy seems like the perfect team to go LJ going against. I say Chiefs win this game outright.
JAX vs. HOU - If Andre Johnson cane come back this would be more of a game. I just think Jacksonville's defense is the difference and they win this game.
CLE vs. MIA - Cleveland's offense is pretty good (last week's game notwithstanding). Miami's defense is getting older but played OK last week. The offense is pretty bad, though. I like the Browns here.
CHI vs. MIN - If AP gets more than 15 carries, Minnesota wins.
PHI @ NYJ - The Jets are a pretty bad football team right now. The Eagles have had two weeks to straighten whatever issues they may have had out, and I think they roll in this game. This might be "the lock" of the week.
BAL vs. STL - There is no good reason why the Ravens should be almost a ten point favorite in any circumstance. If the offense scores in double digits it's a moral victory for them, I like the Rams and the points here.
TB vs. TEN - Interesting game, one where I would be hard pressed to choose a winner. Both play good defense but I'd give the edge to the Bucs and Jeff Garcia over VY and company. I like the home team.
GB vs. WAS - Another one of those "too close to call" games. Both teams have had some unexpected successes this year. i think the Skins defense will put some pressure on Favre and that could lead to some miscues. However, I like GB's defense to stop the Redskin's offense even more. I'll take the Pack.
ARI vs. CAR - David Carr is the Carolina QB. Unfortunately for him, he's not playing the Saints this week. Cardinals.
NE @ DAL - Game of the week. Surprising the line is as low as it is, especially considering Dallas's performance on Monday night. First true test for either team, but I begrudgingly go with the hot hand and the Pats win.
SD vs. OAK - Pretty substantial line here. SD wiped the floor with Denver last week and it looks like they may be starting to turn it around. Oakland's defense is decent, but I don't think it's enough to stop LT. Another one of those close decisions, but I think the Chargers prevail.
SEA @ NO - The Aints have returned. Will they fare better than their other primetime experiences this year? I say.....no. I like the Seahawks wo win easily.
NYG @ ATL - My upset pick this week. Atlanta shocks the Giants at home on Monday Night.
