  1. Buchholz was OK...7 Ks in 5.1 is good but too many baserunners. He's still having trouble with the FB.
  2. Faking injuries? Are you kidding me?
  3. This is all well and good but it is predicated on the fact that Varitek is a good catcher.
  4. Would it have been a good move...considering we would have lost Masterson and Lowrie, and would be paying Dye to platoon with one of our best hitters this season?
  5. If it doesn't take time away from Lowrie and gets rid of Cora I'm all for it.
  6. Melky and Ohlendorf for Nady and/or Marte? The conversation would probably start with Alan Horne or Melancon.
  7. What's the act, exactly?
  8. With ClayBuch going we'll be down like 8-2 in the 8th anyways
  9. Molina's a very good defensive catcher - the problem is the Yanks offense is so weak w/o Damon/Matsui etc. they need more from that position.
  10. Afternoon baseball today if anyone was wondering
  11. DiceK has been quite good this year - but the more I think about it the more I realize he doesn't nibble. He's wild. Absolutely. But when he misses, he misses badly. Nibbling implies he's just off the plate and looking to catch the corner as it were. He's nowhere near that. I also heard something interesting - don't remember the source, so take it with a grain of salt - is that the Japanese pitcher prefers giving up the walk to a hitter instead of giving up a hit because of some respect issue. Not too sure where I heard that but it is another interesting wrinkle. If he cut down the walks just a little bit he'd be a crazy effective pitcher. I think he already is - but he could be front-line starter material.
  12. I desparately want to make the game thread Friday. So that means the best thing to do is win. Clay v. King
  13. no sir, why do you ask?
  14. Step 1 - Score more runs than Seattle Step 2 - ??? Step 3 - Profit Matsuzaka v. Dickey. Win.
  15. lolwut
  16. The Sox only have three more road series against good teams - CHI, NYY, and TB. The rest are against Texas, and some sub-.500 teams (Sea, KC, Bal, Tor). There is the opportunity for ground to be made up.
  17. Pedroia Youk Drew Manny Ortiz Lowell Ellsbury Lowrie Varitek ^^Best lineup Tito can put out there.
  18. Why oh why is Ellsbury leading off again
  19. Gotcha.
  20. Wait a segundo....why am I the only author of threads in the anything goes forum
  21. Haha I was joking, but if you're seriously looking for one I'll throw my hat in the ring.
