I'm usually one of the more optimistic people here...but let me be perfectly clear when I say this: The Red Sox, as currently constructed, will not make the playoffs this year. And I'll gladly eat crow if I'm wrong.

Masterson would be struggling just as much....his BABIP was unsustainable, as low as it was and he couldn't get lefties out.

Look at the numbers this year (esp since May 3). It's pretty marginal.

Manny, Lowell, Crisp.... even Youkilis... couldn't hurt to see what is offered over the next few days. Get Lou Marson, Teagarden Andy LaRoche, ect. All while opening up a lot of money for Burrell, Dunn, Sheets or whomever else does it for you.

That ball was hit very well. So was the 2 run shot to Anderson. It's probably his best start since coming back...but that's not really saying much. I'm OK with him developing this year because I don't think the Sox are going anywhere.

Dude, I know you have a hardon for Clay, but he's pitched "OK" at best. He just gave up a 360+ foot flyball - to the opposite field - to Rob Quinlan. That shouldn't happen.
