Gonzalez is not a great defender, so that point is moot. And if you pimp defense this much, I find it funny that you advocate Tejada.
He's a better player than Gonzalez and was in the midst of an excellent year (some call it a career year, but I digress) and would have filled a need.
I mean, I cannot see why there is so much hand wringing over this signing. 2/11 is chump change.
