apparently the reason the yanks didn't land gagne was because they didn't want to part with Melky (johnny damon says hi:D ) but then when they saw what the sox gave up they were surprised by 'how cheap' the sox got him.

Theo announced at the Gagne PC that Donnelly will have tommy john surgery...and he praised him for keeping it quiet so the rangers couldn't drive the price up. (posted this in the Gagne thread also) Good luck Brendan! -

One other thing to note is that the C's could become a "pats like" team where aging vets will take a pay cut to play here because there is a good chance to get a ring, (sam cassell anyone)

I am glad we are getting KG, but this is an awful steep price to pay...We lost half our team. I wish they could have kept either gomes, green, or the 2 1st rounders out of it. In addition the contract extention is said to be worth 5/125 which will put KG at 37 by the end of it.

i think he will play more, since that's part of the deal for him to waive his "no trade"....i think drew will become the bench guy. He is set to be a FA though. EDIT: might want to change your sig, Lugo is playing great!
