  1. Believe the hype.
  2. The Red Sox will win the division if our big three can step it up. If Daisuke has a Johan type impact, Beckett has 15 or 16 wins with an ERA around 4, and Schilling can stay consistent and produce around the same level as he did last season, the rotation will be the best in the league. The Sox also have a solid bullpen for the first time in years. With Donnelly and Okajima in the late innings and Papelbon closing it out, it'll become much less of a risk when we have a one or two run lead going into the late innings. Also, the lineup is looking great this season as we don't have to depend on certain players like Coco or Varitek to produce. As long as Lugo and Youk get on base, and Papi, Manny, and Drew can drive in the runs, our lineup will once again be a machine. Second place goes to the Toronto Blue Jays, the same team that will win the A.L wild card. Halladay, Burnett, and Chacin will be a powerful top of the rotation trio and B.J Ryan is just about as lights out as they come. The lineup will come together and be a run producing machine as they have Troy Glaus, Alex Rios, Lyle Overbay, and Vernon Wells returning along with the addition of slugger Frank Thomas who should continue to hit countless homers in the DH spot. The Yankees on the other hand are looking as vulnerable as ever. The lineup is great but also isn't getting any younger. A-Rod will have an MVP year and Jeter will continue to do what he does, but after that, nothing is certain. Even though I'm a Red Sox fan, I'm far from biased as I picked the Yankees to win the division last season. Even if the Yankees acquire Roger Clemens midway through the season (which I'm expecting), he won't make as big of an impact as NY fans will hope for. He'll be turning 45 in August and he's going to find much tougher lineups in the AL than he saw in past seasons. His ERA will linger around 4 and his injury risk will be huge. Their rotation as it stands is terrible. Mussina will have a solid year and Igawa might have some success but Pettite, Pavano, and their #5 starter just won't cut it. It's going to be a three way race to the finish for the AL East but the power is shifting and the Yankees will find themselves in 3rd place looking up to the Blue Jays, and World Champion Red Sox.

  4. Tonight should be a good game. It'd be nice to see Pujols hit a few outta the park to give my (not talksox) fantasy baseball team a little jumpstart.
  5.
  6. Stephen A. Smith is one of the greatest analysts of our generation and the fact that any loyal sports fan could disrespect him and his thoughtful, intellectual commentary is absurd.
  7. You're a stud.
  8. That's the dumbest idea I've ever heard in my life.
  9. I could really care less to be honest with you. I think he'll be fine sitting in the seat of his choice every game of the season. I definitely don't feel bad for him for that.
  10. Griffey, Sheffield, Bonds.
  11. Greg Oden is in complete control of the game right now.
  12. Don't forget the 1994-95 Orlando Magic who made it to the NBA finals on the shoulders of Shaq and Penny Hardaway. Healthy Shaq + Star Guard (Opponents can't allow him to take over the game) + Decent supporting cast = NBA champions.
  13. Wow, I wasn't sure what time the Ohio State-Memphis game was on so I just tuned in to accidentally see the last 30 seconds of the division II championship game. Barton's down by 2 with 11 seconds left, they force it inside and tie it up at 77. With 5 seconds left, a barton guard comes up behind the other team's point guard at halfcourt, steals the ball, and runs it back the other way and then with 0.1 seconds left, he just barely releases it for the game winning layup. Sickest 11 seconds of a game I've seen in a while.
  14. Well, first of, being a Red Sox fans means sacrificing small animals routinely to the Greek gods and godesses. Typically, mice and rats are used with an occasional hippopatumus. Personally, being a red sox fan means waking up around 2:45 AM and sexually harassing my pet Sister. Feel free to quote me.
