Right, so this leaves Gagne, Delcarmen, and possibly both Buchholz and Tavares ahead of him. Add Lopez in lefty situations, and Okajima as the best setup man, and we might not see Timlin throw again. And if he does it probably wouldn't be a very relevant situation. I like Timlin, I just see him getting shuffled further back especially considering how hard he got hit in his last outing.
His numbers are OK, but he's not the same pitcher in terms of his stuff, his innings pitched, and the situations he appeared in. Two years ago he was our best setup man, now he's miles from that. I still feel playing in that World Baseball Classic thing was the death knell to his career.
