  1. Wakefield scratched Posted by Amalie Benjamin, Globe Staff August 10, 2008 12:00 PM Tim Wakefield has been scratched from his scheduled start on Tuesday with tightness in the back of his shoulder, the same injury that kept him off the World Series roster. Wakefield has already been sent back to Boston, where he'll be examined by Dr. Thomas Gill. Wakefield will be placed on the disabled list. His replacement as the starter for Tuesday has not yet been announced Not good news. DAMMIT!
  2. Some Sox fans do. Just ignore the thread or STFU!
  3. Sounds like BS to me. But you never know with Manny.
  4. Seriously. Me too about Manny/Papi. But Lester? FK YOU A-HOLE
  5. Will this end ESPN's non-stop reporting/obession with this Favre situation, I doubt it, but I hope so.
  6. Chris Smith optioned Posted by Amalie Benjamin, Globe Staff August 7, 2008 08:15 AM Reliever Chris Smith was optioned to Pawtucket after last night's game. David Aardsma is expected to be activated for the weekend series in Chicago.
  7. I was at a local bar on Sunday 7/6 where a normally "good natured" bar tender-Yankee fan was working. And like the rest of you, I've heard it all He actually asked me if I heard that Jon Lester's cancer came back and he died so he wouldn't be pitching that night. He also said he heard that Manny was f-ing Papi while Tito watched. I only replied that he was a complete a-hole and when and if I return, I'll continue to remind him and tip him $0. Un-f-ing-real. Oh yeah, too bad about Joba's shoulder.
  8. Whatever it takes.
  9. I'm glad they've stuck with Jacoby, not just for last night but his overall defense is amazing and when he does get on base, he is a base stealing machine. Nice to see him hit last night, hopefully it's the start of something.
  10. My thoughts, exactly.
  11. The Red Sox lineup is in, and Dustin Pedroia is getting a night off: 1. J.D. Drew, RF 2. Jed Lowrie, SS 3. David Ortiz, DH 4. Kevin Youkilis, 1B 5. Mike Lowell, 3B 6. Jason Bay, LF 7. Jacoby Ellsbury, CF 8. Kevin Cash, C 9. Alex Cora, 2B -- Tim Wakefield, SP
  12. Rays win 10-7
  13. MANNY......You have broken my heart bro :(
  14. Can he pitch? Nice pick up.
  15. I'm not going to start a new thread at this time but a friend of mine at work says the Yankees have gotten Pudge Rodriguez from the Tigers (he's listening to XM radio ESPN I think)
  16. Very positive. But I wasn't referring to 2007. It's all good. You got frustrated and started this thread, it's the way you felt at the time. Upon reflection, it appears you feel it's a little much to Blow Up the team. We all have our moments. Now, please win tonight TEAM!
  17. It has nothing to do with Varitek. We're not going to win the WS every year. But I'd be shocked if we didn't make it to the post season, barring any major injuries. I was furious last night thinking we were gonna get no hit, thank you Dustin and Youk. We've been a little slow out of the gate since the All Star break. Even if we don't make the play offs under no circumstances should or will this team be Blown Up.
  18. RED SOX 1. Dustin Pedroia, 2B 2. Kevin Youkilis, 1B 3. David Ortiz, DH 4. Manny Ramirez, LF 5. Mike Lowell, 3B 6. J.D. Drew, RF 7. Jason Varitek,C 8. Alex Cora, SS 9. Jacoby Ellsbury, CF -- Clay Buchholz, SP WIN!!

  20. DAMMIT !!!! Manny scratched Posted by Amalie Benjamin, Globe Staff July 25, 2008 04:30 PM Manny Ramirez has been scratched from tonight's lineup. More coming soon ... The More: Manny scratched Posted by Amalie Benjamin, Globe Staff July 25, 2008 04:30 PM After being penciled into his regular cleanup spot earlier in the afternoon, Manny Ramirez has now been scratched from tonight’s lineup. In his meeting with the media, Red Sox manager Terry Francona, who had Manny in his original lineup for tonight’s series opener against the Yankees, said Manny’s knee was still bothering him from time to time (Ramirez also missed Wednesday’s game with a sore knee) and that the he had told Manny to tell him if he couldn’t play tonight
  21. Sweet! Enjoy! Represent Talksox well
