  6. Age not a factor for Cameron Posted by Peter Abraham, Globe Staff April 20, 2010 02:37 PM Mike Cameron is on the disabled list with a sports hernia and the immediate reaction in some quarters will be to point out that is this what happens when you sign a 37-year-old outfielder. If only that were true. Rangers star Josh Hamilton had the same injury last season at at the age of 28. Texas second baseman Ian Kinsler had the injury in 2006 when he was 26. Redskins quarterback Donovan McNabb, Saints tight end Jeremy Shockey, Alabama receiver Julio Jones ... the list goes on and on. It has nothing to do with age. Beyond that no Red Sox player is in better shape than Cameron outside of Jacoby Ellsbury. That's not speculation, that's what the preseason condition tests revealed. That he has a sports hernia goes a long way in explaining why Cameron has looked so out of sorts in center field this season. The injury is a lingering one and Cameron could be out for a while. Josh Reddick will probably play center field tonight. But it would make sense to put Ellsbury back there once he returns and to use Reddick and Jeremy Hermida in left field
  7. Yes, please!!

  10. Cameron to DL; Reddick on the way Posted by Peter Abraham, Globe Staff April 20, 2010 10:15 AM It was evident yesterday that the Red Sox had to make a move in center field and it will happen today. Mike Cameron has a sports hernia, a tearing of the abdominal muscles near his pelvis. Josh Reddick has been summoned to take his place on the roster according to team sources. Sean McAdam of CSNNE.com reported the Cameron side of the story first. Reddick has not hit well for Pawtucket so far (.179/200/.359), but had a terrific spring training and is one of the organization's best prospects. The alternative was Darnell McDonald, a 31-year-old journeyman. You can expect Reddick to be in center field tonight against the Rangers.
  11. This is true, which is a good thing. The Sox need all the mojo they can get!!
  12. Go Timaaaay AND the Offense!
  13. No, for the most part, you aren't a nice guy. Be realistic.
  14. You are an ass. The majority of us could "go without" your presence.
  15. Yeah...exactly....
  16. Ahhhhhhh. Common sense. Reality. Patience. So rare out here these days. Thanks ORS. Oh, allow me to add KNOWLEDGE which is much better than all of the KNEE JERK crap that is being posted out here.
  17. Not me. Was expecting them to break out some this weekend. If not, I will not EVEN BE CLOSE to winning the t-shirt. Guess I have time to change my picks.....
  18. Another game I'm glad I missed. For FAAAACK'S Sake this team needs a spark or something. This is brutal. Glad it's still April. UGH!
