  1. Well, glad I didn't DVR this game. Not a good game. Looking forward to being back in Fenway.
  2. As excruciating as the Twins radio announcers are (but still not as bad as Sterling/WaldMAN) I'll be listening at work on XM/Sirius.
  3. LOL smart arse! I wasn't posting the article to give him a break for his lack of hitting, just didn't want to start a new thread. Hope all is well with ya stranger!
  4. Glad the bullpen managed to hold it together for Lackey to get the W. Paps always has to make it interesting.
  5. Glad they only got 1 run.
  6. NICE Hermida!!!!!
  7. Bonser shelled in second start Posted by Peter Abraham, Globe Staff April 13, 2010 10:21 PM Boof Bonser's return to the majors took a wrong turn tonight. The righthander lasted only two innings for Triple-A Pawtucket, giving up nine runs (all earned) on five hits, three walks and a hit batter. He threw only 22 of his 47 pitches for strikes as the PawSox were beaten 12-0 by Lehigh Valley. Bonser has put 16 batters on base in 6.1 innings this season. It seems safe to say his rehab assignment will not be ending any time soon. Ostensibly, Bonser is on the disabled list with a groin strain. In reality, he is still coming back from shoulder surgery done 13 months ago and told reporters tonight that his shoulder "seized up" on him. Control issues are not uncommon for pitchers returning from surgery.
  8. A story worth sharing Posted by Peter Abraham, Globe Staff April 13, 2010 10:03 PM As you know, David Ortiz struck out four times on Sunday. Given the state of things and the heat coming down on him, it had to be a rough day. That's what makes this e-mail from a Red Sox fan named Jeremy worth sharing. A Missouri resident, he took his family to the game and found himself in the hallway outside the clubhouse afterward. His daughter Jordan, who turns 3 in July, counts David as her favorite player and named her rocking horse after him. I'll let Jeremy tell the rest of the story ... "Several players made their way to the elevator without even a hello. Then emerged Ortiz, and instinctively my little girl says "Big Papi"! After a rough game and I am sure tough questioning, he stopped, turned around, and came over to my little girl. He spoke, signed a ball for her and left with at least one moment of a smile on his face. "Despite the weight of the 'Red Sox Nation' on his shoulders, he found a way to touch the life of a young fan that he will never know the importance of. ... In our eyes, he is a person to look up to and can only hope he finds the happiness he once had smacking the ball around the yard." I have no idea whether David will recapture his form as a player or not. But anybody who is nice to kids is somebody deserving of your support because — and this is a shame — every player is not. Thanks for the e-mail. Jeremy and here's hoping Jordan enjoys watching her favorite player this season.
