He's a boob. I hope he takes over the team. Random trash talking by an entitled self-important look-alike who will never be half the ass his daddy is...ya I know the ...yawn arguments. But they WANT TO WIN no matter the money say the Yankee kool aid drinking masses as they build a 4 billion dollar shrine. Signed, P.T. Barnum P.S. M.J. We are anxiously awaiting your 50 bucks and your 5 keepers.

I don't know. I felt like I should be eating a can of beans and wearing a hobo hat and people would call me Sal the Hobo when reading this thread. With someone named One Armed Willie as the protagonist. (he had both arms...just don't ask about why he is called one armed Willie and you'll be fine) The doomed guy is playing the harp in the background. Seriously, that first post was like The Yearling but w/ more tragedy and the subsequent answers were full of more self-important self-indulgent senile rantings than a meeting w/ The Felons brain w/ The Felons brain. Available for cameo appearances only during The Love Boat reunions but sadder.

Hey Fish! The bet was you had to start posting here if the Gints lost. Ha! SOTK, I can guarantee he will be nothing but nice....we've tried to convert him to the good side for years but alas he bleeds Yankee blue.

Uh yeah. I would say the old place had an impact on me as well. If you had told me five years ago how much of an impact I would have laughed and laughed. Not to mention, without question, just driving up to NYC to meet a bunch of people I had never seen but considered almost family at that point to go to a game in The Bronx....including the airman (I can find that post game 3 quote BTW), and also a portly fellow of great humor. Not to mention a heart of gold Yankee buddy and I never thought those words would ever come out of my mouth. Brad I'm sure I'll be hearing from as soon as FBB starts up again. I miss that Pring-Wilson thread. That place was rare and a mecca for self-expression and it's sad it got so screwed up by a few loons. Rose. Not mentioning any names. The other place screwed the pooch too..but that was just like a bunch of friends sitting at a bar...I still try to refresh the page every once in awhile for nostalgia purposes. I'm still waiting for the lawsuit from Disenchanted...the famed motivational speaker from New Mexico.

I said he was going to The Mutts about 3 months ago. Seemed fairly obvious to me. Can't find those posts..but they are there.

You sick f***. No wonder you live 5 miles from Walpole. You didn't include the well received and universally popular and let's face it fun "Applied Linear Statistical Models" in your argument.

I'm also fleeing the ice and the hot stove such as it is down here and going where the weather suits my clothes...don't want to be treated this old way. 10 days in the V.I. and y'all may never hear from me again. I'm mad as hell and not going to take it anymore. Well, not really, I'm just cold.

Allusions? I'm just Ramblin" on Rose'...pay no attention to the woman behind the curtain. God save the child that rings that bell It may have one good ring, baby, you cant tell Actually that was a Hunter interpretation of the great Billie Holiday..God Bless the Child Who's Got His Own. ....Mama may have, Papa may have Are you implying that I'm not being serious and literal w/ my interpretation of what is going on in our little baseball cosmos and I'm having fun w/ it a little bit. Sir, we should take this outside.

Crunchy is the King (Fisher) of double speak and red herrings so you'll forgive him his trespasses. I'll further my agreement w/ your point. Schilling could ejaculate on National T.V with a press conference, impregnate the youngest Spears sister, declare himself a polygamist, start a very very small fiefdom of his own mind, run for Congress on the Cashew Platform, sit on his couch for the rest of his days and there is nothing that is going to change my mind about the guy. I don't GAF about his ramblings except I find them refreshing in a sterile world run amok w/ crazy people and liars. He was pivotal to my freaking team winning a World Series in my lifetime and he did it again last year. And, he f***ing stands by what he says with actions. Not a hypocrite. I happen to like that in people. Whether I agree w/ them or not. Character one way or the other. He is one.

I'll just disagree w/ point 1. The market always runs cyclical. Always. Greed is Good. Or not so much for those who gambled and lost. Say you lay down 300 for the Pats to win by 13. They win by 12.5. I don't think the International Foundation of Bookies. The IFOB if you will subsidized by the taxpayers will say...heck SP. You should have known that perhaps...just perhaps they wouldn't cover so we'll give you your money back and tuck you in at bedtime. You sign a contract. You sign a contract. This isn't about LaQuisha the night health aide buying a 625,000 duplex in The Dot making 7.15/hr. Who is still responsible by the way. It's about people taking out no interest loans, gambling against equity they didn't have and BETTING that the market would bear out. And they would triple their money. Speculators. Arizona tract house buyers. We'll live off the fat of the land Lenny. Gambled...lost. Not...predatory lenders. The scourge of the world as they are every 25 years or so. Why anyone w/ the sense of a gnat would get anything but a fixed rate w/ as much money as you can put down is beyond me. Particularly during those heady times w/ rates around 4. I waited a very very long time to buy a house. I bought within my means. I bought smart. On my own. It's increased in value 3 fold despite the current market. Bought it to buy and hold. Got the whole the market dips and curves thing. Would I have liked a 8 room mansion w/ a pool and a cabana boy named Hector. Yes. I shouldn't get screwed because other people are dumb. If you can't afford a house. You can't afford a house. The have to have it now generation. No you don't. I also think those people shouldn't be allowed to procreate but that's just me. I don't want to bail them out. I don't want to bail Amtrak out. Or the airlines. Take care of business or perish. Your other points...no doubt we are the most stupid nation ever in the history of civilization and we're screwed. The worst thing you can do is punish successful people. They drive the economy. Witness the mass migration out of well Mass. The anger towards big oil and the "fat cats" I find humorous. Generally promulgated by those who couldn't find success if it bit them in the ass. This steroid issue is a conspiracy run by the D.O.D who are also on top of Britney...so to speak and probably literally daily.

Also Tom Yawkey was a horrible human being and set our team back 4,000 years. His wife wasn't much better and just had the good sense not to Schott herself in the foot by confining her racism and stupidity to the Beacon Hill elite. Then we got bought by a member of the Mob. And, thankfully he has now expired. The majority of the NATION would have killed him if given the chance. I really hate that the main street is named after that stupid family. Longevity shouldn't buy you respect. Like well, there is Marv and Betty married 72 years. Clap...clap..clap. The D.J. doesn't say they've despised each other for 71 of those years. Wasn't no goddamn curse. Just decades of ignorance.

?..when did The Felon do that. That's pseudo rhetorical. I think it's great. I love it when the Stein's run the operation. The epitome of futility and bluster. And zero championships. Actually, I think the organization under Big Stein went the longest of any MFY team w/out a W.S. title. When was the last one prior to 96 again? I forget. I love his energy and enthusiasm as well. I can't wait for the Girardi/Hank brawls. Good stuff. We'll just be over here laughing in Title town.
-
Speaking of Braun who I claimed off waivers last year while y'all were taking a nap and then won the championship. Not to mention the plethora of other players that I claimed off waivers while you were all napping. You gonna play the league you started again this year? BudLight pansied on us because he wouldn't cough up the 20 bucks for the ENTIRE YEAR, typical Yankee fan..but I know you have faith in your team. It's 50 now I assume FOR THE ENTIRE YEAR ,and everyone got their money. Well me because I won. In or out. Year 4 for us and you can't give up on the young pitchers yet that you keep drafting. I just know that the young buck Cole Hamels will finally come through for you.

1) We gotta play 'em one day at a time. 2) I'm just happy to be here. Hope I can help the ballclub. 3) I just want to give it my best shot, and the good Lord willing, things will work out. Yeah...that's much better. In these days spoken by the agents/personal advisers/many many therapists. Shine on you crazy diamond. Represents his own damn self in negotiations and puts in a fat clause and signs w/ the Olde Town Team for much less money than he could have gotten on the open market. Not to mention he stapled his ankle together...because he got it. IT. And won us a World Series and he didn't do that bad last year you malcontents and whiny whiny people. Nomah didn't. The Texas Con Man didn't. So STFU about Schilling any of y'all. American original and I'll take him.

Sox to Re-Sign Mirabelli to One-Year Deal
Taliesin replied to BoSox21's topic in Boston Red Sox Talk
Parody? We should have won Pulitzer's for some of that banter. The Shank and his lot and The Herald "writers" plagiarized our stuff (well some of us...not me necessarily..or not at all...just a few of the crew) w/ abandon. Par for the course at those "news" papers. Barnicle has been hanging around check cashing places in Roxbury for years from his house in Lincoln. -

He still has the archives....allegedly. This is pure speculation from a disinterested third party who has no knowledge first hand or otherwise of the afore-mentioned individual nor his/her so-called proof or lack thereof of certain incriminating and non-incriminating ipso facto posts that may or may not have existed in cyberspace at one point or another, and will claim full immunity from prosecution if forced to testify before the committee. And the 5th. And the 2nd because it may come in handy. -
The Rocket doth protest too much, methinks. Lizard's leg, and owlet's wing,— For a charm of powerful trouble, Like a hell-broth boil and bubble. Sorry, mixing Bill's metaphors and contrasting Plays. This isn't the Zapruder tape. Isn't worth analyzing. He's a boob baseball player. A slime of almost incomprehensible proportion and willing to do anything to confuse the general populace and even the diehardcorefans. He has about 23 million he earned just from his 2 week heroic return like THE f***ING QUEEN waving from the balcony reminiscent of Eva Peron who didn't limp off the big stage from my recollection w/ a fake pulled groin. He can buy the best to twist his web and he's doing so quite impressively for those without brain function. I'll posit he has a few bucks to spend on some incredible spin. Impressive, but so was his sham career post 1997. Put him on the ticket in N.H. In a few weeks he'll be a martyr. I call liar, liar, pants on fire. I predict a 70 percent approval rating in 2 months. Moo. He's full of s***, he said nothing, and nice using a sick kid ya prick. I do believe him when he says he doesn't care about the H.O.F except what it's going to do to his endorsements and the cute ads he does w/ the long suffering Debbie and eventually with PAyton Manning. Sorry, had to get a dig into that horse face media whore while I was at it. He also sounded a lot like me when I was a teenager and trying to convince my mom I wasn't drinking that night. I used the righteous indignation game as well. I did NOT have attorneys present, although that would have been great.

It's academic until he actually is a member of the rotation. He went from 23 HR's in 05' to 16 in 07'. To us plebians that would seem an improvement. Those are actual home runs and I don't have fps or zips or RZRs to back them up. Nor do I ever hope to. His numbers against the MFY's ain't good, but the context of the lineup behind him and the atmosphere that he was operating in can't be underestimated. If Beckett had been traded to the A's or the Mariners for instance...would he be the guy he is? I don't know. I don't think so. He's no #1 and never will be. I wasn't arguing that. I think he could be a very good 4 or 5 and I'd rather them go in that direction. It's just my opinion. He will never be a shut down guy but 230 innings can't be over valued.

Alright, I'm bored too. This is the worst time of the year other than the end of January in general sports terms. You can never have too much pitching. I am not going to write a 4 page defense of the argument with pie charts. You can never have too much pitching. He comes from a system that develops quality arms. He has improved every year. He went 14-10 last year w/ a borderline major league lineup around him. He had a 3.95 E.R.A and a 1.22 WHIP and 140 strikeouts all the while pitching in the American League. He only gave up 16 Home Runs in 230 innings. He pitched 230 innings. I can come up with some more but I'm finding myself writing in short sentences and that ain't good. You don't think we can find a spot for this guy in our rotation? He's the same age as Beckett and will cost very little to obtain. I know we'd have to give up the greatest CF in baseball...cough. Talk about spin with that one. Santana is going to be pitching for the Mets next year.
