  1. i loved pedro martinez when he pitched here he was and will always be a legend hes now pitching in the B league against inferior competetion and lets not make any mistake about this he left for the money in ny after he made 90,000,000.00 pitching here his #s since he got hurt got worse and worse in the american league he could no longer beat the yankees at all why pay him 16M per when baltimore ny and even tampa were hitting him hard?? he doesnt see anything remotely like these offenses in the national league it was a business move sure i get sick watching him pitch in ny,we all do i think. and i do miss the man, terribly, ive seen him pitch live and it was like watching marvin hagler fight, flawless execution, almost beyond human. but it made no sense to sign him for 4 years when his next pitch may indeed be his last...
  2. the tribe seems to be holding their own today against the moose
  3. 2004 red sox ring a bell?? not really crespo schilling pedro foulke manny lowe ortiz the 2nd highest payroll in history dont qualify as money ball in my opinion but i admit i didnt read the book, ive only taken in bits and pieces from those who proffess its genious. and if you recall didnt we have a base stealer named dave roberts who saved the season by stealing a base then scoring on a single?? according to money ball philosophy(please correct me if im wrong here) kevin millar wouldve been on 1st base and stoped at 2nd after billy muellers hit then we wouldve had bellhorn up......game over yanks sweep when i think money ball i think oakland types low payroll, softball type offenses, decent pitching etc...
  4. 9.5 m/per and all the courage and heroism of the bush department of defense fukin disgrace
  5. arod the guy who wanted to play for the dominicans until his image consultants decided he'd be better off playing for america before they explored the possibility of experimenting with the asian markets and have him playing for korea or japan then you get the michale kay version ARODS WIFE MONA IS MAD AT ME BECAUSE ALL HER DAUGHTER WILL SAY WHEN HER DADDY COMES UP IS SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEE YAAAAAAAAA I TOLD MONA THAT THATS A GOOD THING AND ISNT ARODS DAUGHTER JUST A LITTLE SLICE OF SWEETNESS WHO KNOWS,MAYBE SOME DAY SHE TOO WILL GRACE THE HEAVENS WITH HER BATTING PROPENSITY JUST LIKE HER DADDY DOES as arod taps into a 6-4-3 double play with the bases loaded its the ballwashing that drives real ny fans insane they know how much this guy has let them down over the years hes been in ny they were embarassed when he got the mvp last year and as he looked like a boy against men when the moneys really on the table it only got worse hes still very young and i suspect his best is still yet to come however if he had any fukin sense he'd fire his makeup people, his image consultants and just go out there and play baseball instead of posing for espn the magazine,gq and blew boy
  6. 6 bbs 3earned in 4.2 innings from matt clement we want our guy to keep us in the game but 6bb's from a vet making 7or8m per?? fukin putrid simply fukin putrid maybe when wily mo comes back he can pitch
  7. the reds have bashers and they steal quite a bit with freel and lopez and others damon jetsey cano and cairo have been running for the yanks crisp can run too moneyball?? all i know about money ball is nobody won s*** playing it
  8. cleveland has been realing all year but the deal with rj appears to be this as it warms up he gets better the nite in boston he got his clock cleaned but pitched well in the later innings the following couple starts he was on then he pitched in the cold damp weather against oakland and couldnt get it together, tonite in the warmth he got it together again.. he'll be on for the summer but come the fall he'll ache up as he did last year you cant battle arthritis unfortunetly you just try to contain it cleveland?? i really thought after last season they'd challenge the chisox for the central but theyre bats have been dead all year and theyre pitching isnt all that good this year either dont matter a win is a win and youre going to need 92-98 of them to win the east this season i believe the yanks have held them to 1 run in 18 innings, tremendous efforts you can beat everyone if youre pitching like that
  9. i think foulke was done on 10/04 he may have blown his knees out when he caught veritek in his arms after the assist to end the world series. tavares hasnt been lites out since he pitched in cleveland i do like the insanity but i'd prefer to see him strictly pitch against the yankees in blowouts i dont know why anyone would dig in on him hes always 1 second away from killing someone
  10. nomah do you know a 2nd basemen with more hits in the last 365 days? do you know a yankee with bigger hits than cano?? please fill us in... this kid was a diamond in the rough who's done far more than any yankee fan dreamed of. if that dont impress you then you need to find another game to watch. let me remind you in case you didnt know i hate the yankees almost as much as cancer but i tend to call spades spades. robbie cano is the starting allstar 2bmen for the al and has helped the yankees win more games than any other position player on the field this year. thats strictly my opinion but i wonder how you could possibly argue with that unless you want to mention giambi who absolutley sucks on the field and has been hobbled quite a bit...
  11. wait a minute here his 1st start against toronto he left with a 6-4 lead i believe and got out of jams in every single inning he pitched....lenny dinardo had us down 8*0 before the team saw the 2nd inning beckett got torched in 1 1/3 innings against that team as well against ny he was 6 2/3 deep with 1 earned until that friggin roller got by him a 75 foot single cost him that game we all knew it was going to get worse for him after that. he is not the answer but we need a guy who can eat up innings with as little pain as possible dinardo couldnt do it arroyo is in ohio and we still havent found the man for the job yet matt clement tonite?? think about that for a moment before we crucify a kid who went against the 3 best Offenses in the game not named boston in his 1st 3 starts
  12. whats wrong with riske his #s over the past few years have been solid, very solid and i thought he'd be a big time pick up,more so than tavares or rudy. hes been disappointing to say the least is he still banged up?
  13. you'd think toronto has seen enough of florida's pitchers after burnett
  14. great effort from wang last nite just what the doctor ordered from a yanks perspective he is a good pitcher, not great but he'll keep you in the game and if you let him get on a roll like the tribe did hes capable of doing exactly what he did. and robby cano has played better than any other yankee infielder bar none hes the teams mvp as of today
  15. theo,in his infinite wisdom, gave tavares a 2 yr deal are we not still paying some of bunny kims contract too? are we paying some of renterias contract for 3 more years as well is shea hillebrand hitting .350? never mind theo gets a pass cause hes local, won a world series and is young some of his moves are shockingly bad and relatively clueless but i also think he isnt the bottom line,he answers to a higher authority seanez and tavares are both on multi year deals i believe we own their asses till 10-07
  16. great matchup boys santana has been beatable we're 3-3 and his era is a bit over 4.00 against us schill on the other hand is on right now and shouldnt have much trouble with that lineup
  17. suzy waldman?? the poster women for homosexual acceptance i got stuck on the gw coming home from miami with my wife and kids 1 sunday afternoon in april between her and kay for a couple hours i came about as close as ever to ending it all by driving everyone off the bridge and if i survived i'd use them as my defense no jury could possibly convict me after listening to those 2
  18. manny looks like hes baked and sometimes plays like it but if i recall didnt he lead mlb outfielders in assists?? didnt he hit 40-120 .298? AGAIN the man is a run producing machine the most consistant right handed power hitter ive ever seen in my life and at this time i'd personally like to thank george stebbenheimer for taking arod and allowing us to keep manny no way we win that thing in 04 with arod and no manny
  19. i think cabrerras a player who could be a monster if he had some more pop in his bat time may aid that hes got speed,a decent arm and makes contact hes a keeper and an allstar IF he can get to the 20hr 85-100rbi plateau
  20. i should know my audience better i dont know of any other bball player who wears a C on his uniform other than tek it was a figure of speech i apologize for the grammar did you do a lot of umpiring as a kid??
  21. certainly not but i did appreciate him keeping us in the games against both toronto and ny while beckett couldnt get out of his own way and lenny dinardo couldnt find his ass with either hand all i want from our staff is a chance to win schilling and beckett do that most of the time the rest of the staff has been scetchy
  22. is jeter the yankee captain?? if so he wears the C its a figure of speech sonny ""wearing"" the C indicates youre the team captain yaz was the sox captain for 16 years without wearing the C jim rice didnt wear a C either you dont need to physically wear one to be one
  23. hes a catcher he calls the game,he sets the tone dont believe me? ask arod what happens when you disrespect a sox pitcher is this how you retort about jetseys futile #s late in the game?? by calling out jason veritek? do you realize your allstar catcher blocks the plate around the pitchers mound and is terrified of contact? i already said its not jetseys fault he isnt a leader like paul oneill
  24. if you dont have soap water and a bucket to scrub his balls like michael kay evidently you're tearing him down jim dont you understand? hes the best ball player ever not named arod
  25. i may be mistaken but i believe he led baseball in ending games last year with an out... alex gonzales doesnt make 19,000,000.00 to go 2-68 with risp after 8 innings he plays short stop like jetsey dreams of playing and didnt he get a ring recently in florida and ended a game with a walk off homerun against the 4-1 favored yankees?? he doesnt do visa commercials or wear the C on his uniform he just shuts his mouth and plays baseball as far as nomar goes?? please we won the world series 3 months after dumping his ass it was the greatest thing to happen to boston baseball in 86 years i thought he retired in shame who gives a f*** about nomar. jetsey is a good ballplayer who happens to be put on a pedestal because he plays in nyc its not his fault he doesnt have the leadership skills of paul oneill or the big hit propensity that guys like broscious or leyritz or bernie had lets call spades spades for a change jetsey is a limited range banjo hitter who fails consistantly with runners on base in the late innings,he runs well,he doesnt makes the routine play, can turn the dp with the best of them and will hit .300-.310 with 200 hits per year and 100 runs
