  1. Same...I think the DTrain would mesh really well in this clubhouse, too.
  2. Wow...very nice by Lopez.
  3. I think you guys are going a little crazy over Gonzo's offense...I'll be the first one to admit he's been phenomenal, but I don't see any way of him keeping up anywhere close to this for the whole year. I'm in favor of giving him an extension soley because of his defense...but are all you guys going to be still in favor of it come late September when he's back hitting in the .240's? I'd love to eat my words if he keeps this up, I'm just not convinced yet.
  4. Anyone know where I can watch the video of the Carlton Fisk/Deion Sanders squabble from the early 90's? I can't stand when stuff isn't on YouTube. Sheesh.
  5. I need Schill to be freak nasty today...and hopefully someone sent a message to the bats and told them to show up.
  6. Yea, I'm down with this one, too. I knew Youk had potential...but he's been phenomenal this year.
  7. Anyone know what ever happened to Mike Garciaparra? I think it was Mike, wasn't it?
  8. Oh...and something good out of the night...I've just jumped up to "Major Leaguer"
  9. Loretta was trying to light a spark...but when you're down 5-0, you're just after baserunners. Oh well. Changed the whole complection of the inning, could have had bases juiced with none out. Hopefully we can get something rolling next inning.
  10. Alright...way to take some pitches Lowell. We need to get Dontrelle out of the game...I like our chances of putting up runs against Marlins middle relief over our chances against the DTrain.
  11. Let's bring in a long man...
  12. Nice curve there...the brighest spot of this game thus far.
  13. Wow...Adam Bernero is having a solid outing thus far for Philly against Toronto. Here's his line: .2 IP, 3 H, 2 BB, 4 ER
  14. With Papi out of the lineup, I think we should play NL ball to start. If Coco gets on, I say he's running.
  15. I like the first one way better...but this one's cool nonetheless.
  16. I don't even understand what's going on.
  17. Hahaha I think we all echo these sentiments.
  18. TalkSox.com A SoapBox for SoxFans
  19. I wonder how they'd work out cost-wise? I'm real pumped about this idea. I can't wait to see the fruitation of it. I wish I was more familiar with graphics, I'd love to draw something up.
  20. I've always been a huge fan of baseball T's, but I don't know if you can get them in any color besides white. Usually the base is white and the sleeves are different colors. If we could find a way to get a navy blue baseball T, I think that'd be awesome. Otherwise, a regular navy blue shirt would be sweet. On another note...I guess I'm kind of naive...is "Rouge State" a Star Wars reference or am I missing something?
  21. Haha, you and Theo both thought that way...
  22. Hahaha...my uncle always called him "Greg Looseanus"
  23. Steve Perry is a god
  24. I think that it's only appropriate that, after we're all big and bad enough to shoot our mouths off throughout TalkSox, that we should have a forum where we can come out and say "s***, I really screwed that one up" or "Boy, was I WAY off." If we're going to state our opinions, we've also gotta own up to it when we're incorrect. I'll start off... Mark Freaking Loretta. Now, I knew who this guy was when he came over from the NL...and I got reaaaaaaal pissed when he wasn't producing on offense or defense at the begining of the year. I gave him a couple of weeks to iron out the wrinkles, but he stilllllllll wasn't cutting it. I threw out every possible scenario from steroids to not being able to handle the pressure of Fenway to simply being past his prime. I was advocating a trade for pretty much anyone so we could fix the hole in the boat before it sank. Well, I'm eating my words. Loretta is freaking fantastic. Obviously you've got better hitters in Ramirez and Ortiz, but can you think of a guy who gives you more consistent at bats EVERY SINGLE TIME he's up? The guys patience is ridiculous. If he's swinging early in the count, you can rest assured he's going to bang out a base hit, but the vast majority of the time, he's not putting a ball in play until the pitcher has thrown AT LEAST 3 or 4 pitches. The guy can spoil good pitch after good pitch with two strikes on him. He's the most proficient hitter I've ever seen with a runner on first. You can always catch a couple of swings where the big guys go chasing and try to hit the ball 2,000 feet...not with Loretta. He knows his roll and goes with the pitches and is putting together an AWESOME season. Here's to you, Mark, for making me look like an idiot  Not a bad deal for what ended up being Cla Meredith and cash, eh??
