    It's just because the whole bullpen is so taxed (and suck so bad haha), JVB was going to be unavailable for tonight anyways, and they needed some kind of option should Pauley get bounced early. And an option besides Alex Cora haha.

    I don't think Clemens is really concerned about his line tonight. The whole purpose behind those starts are to get his location and what not down to live batters in game situations...but, he gave up a double in that same inning

    That's an awesome one...I think we've got a great core of people in here and I really enjoy our gameday threads and the conversations we all have. I also think it says a lot about the quality of people here whenever one of our fellow members have something going on in their lives and there is an outpouring of support.

    Dude...Nomar is leading the league in hitting. There's no way the Dodgers would deal him. I can see him, with enough at-bats, (which I know is a huge if for him) winning the batting title. The guy can still hit with the best in the game.

    My problem with Cora at 2 is that we have two extremely good OBP guys in Crisp and Youk that can lead off...and I think putting a guy like Cora in at 2 just wastes their OBP because of all the DPs that would result. I'd say if you do this, Cora is bunting EVERY SINGLE TIME.

    Daaaaaaaaaaamn I wish this was 5 years ago, I'd have loved to see Wood here then. But, unfortunately, Wood now is damaged goods. (Thanks Dusty Baker, for ruining one of the best young pitchers in the game.) I'd trade one of the big prospects like Pedroia for a guy like Kazmir...but I just can't pull the trigger on a guy who's had a history of injury problems. Now, if the Cubbies just wanted Clement and Dinardo for Wood, I'd say go for that...those guys suck

    If you were Tito, would you split up Cora and Gonzo, and spread their outs out, or would you stack them together and just give away 2/3 of an inning every single time their spot in the lineup comes up? I think there are advantages (if you can call it that) to both... Loretta has a sore foot from when he got hit the other night. He never left the game, but Francona said he figured him to be about 50% at the games conclusion. I can see this being drawn out. We need Loretta back! And he's putting up a GREAT showing from AllStar voting, too!

    I don't know if news made it to all of your respective cities yet...but I actually just signed a deal to be the Sox 5th starter. It's a pro-rated deal...and I won't travel with the team when I'm not starting in that particular series. Hey, can't be worse than Clement, right?
