    I wouldn't hate signing him for another year...I advocate bringing Pedroia up next year and seeing how he does in spring training. If he proves he is ready, I'd be all for it and have Loretta play off the bench. Is Loretta not good enough for you as a back up middle infielder?

    I know this is off topic...but did anyone see Damon's throw the other night in the bottom of the 11th (?) I think on the basehit to shallow centerfield to win the game for the WhiteSox? It was absolutley comical...one of my favorite highlights of the season thus far.

    Every single pitcher starts Pena off with a breaking ball away...swing and a miss strike one. When he closes up that hole, he's going to be an awfully tough guy to pitch to. He's pretty much always starting 0-1. He's freaking Pedro Cerrano. It's very bad steal Joe Boo's rum...it's very bad... Straight ball...I hit very much...curveball...bats are afraid...

    I'd say unless Paps keeps his ERA below 1 and grabs at least another 15 saves...he doesn't have a prayer at MVP, ROY, or Cy. The dude set an unfair precedent for himself at the beginning of the year, no one could have thought he was going to keep that up. For sure if he did, with an ERA of freaking 0 and never blowing a save chance, he'd be a lock for every single award given. s***, I'd find a way to give him a Silver Slugger award for that, fact of the matter is, it didn't happen. The other rookie pitchers this year were just too good to have a very good season win any of those awards, you have to be absolutley, positively amazing. Granted, Paps was that at the beginning, unfortunatley, he's gotten pulled back down to (somewhat) reality. Depending on how far the Tigers go in the post-season (which I know they say doesn't matter), my pick is Verlander. Dude is ridiculous. But let's look on the bright side...we've seen some great things out of Papelbon and I, for one, would be shocked if this year is his only run at the Cy Young or MVP.

    Make sure you look on CraigsList.com - It'll take some extensive searching...but you can find some people that will look to sell theirs for face. Or trade for other games. If you can hold out, the closer you get to game time, the better chance you have of getting them for a reasonable price. Usually people have you come and pick them up somewhere in the Boston area. Good luck. Worked like a charm for me a week or so ago, but the Yanks are a far tougher ticket.

    You boys enjoy the game! I'm heading out of the BPL down to Fenway to see if I can grab some tickets. Went to last night's game and it was increeeeeeeedible. That minor league catcher the Guardians got for Wickman better be batting .450 with 40 HRs and 170 RBIs next year

    Nobody freak out just yet...the Nomar trade didn't come down until the clock pretty much hit 4...and there was no talk of that previously. At least not with those players mentioned. Let's hope... Oh who am I kidding...

    I'd buy into that if he were good last year...but he sucked then, too. And that's in the freaking National League. He's going to suck harder facing the likes of Jeter, ARod, Glaus, Wells, and Giambi 19 games a year each.
