  1. Two tough plays for Iwamura. C'mon Jason Bay.
  2. Yeah, crazy isn't it? I'll have to check out Craigslist more often. You can get decent tickets to O's games too down in Baltimore. If we could get the money together, me and a few friends would definitely go down this summer.
  3. Lol, that's what he said. I guess a season ticket holder couldn't go to the game.
  4. So I got a friend at the game tonight. Got $60 tickets on Craiglist for seats five rows back of home plate. Haven't seen him on TV yet though.
  5. Well, Haverhill is probably happy with the game right now.
  6. Yeah, and he started off pretty good too.
  7. Thank you for the double play Longoria.
  8. Yeah, considering I don't even remember who the Twins got from the Mets for Santana.
  9. Pretty good start by Lester so far. Rem-Dog was talking about how good the pitching staff is for both clubs when the game 2 matchup is Lester/Kazmir. I still say Kazmir will cough it up at some point tonight.
  10. Yeah, I always liked the look of Turner Field. Plus they've always had great management with Schuerholz and Bobby Cox. Frank Wren though? We'll see about him.
  11. Dale and Holley were actually talking about this today on EEI. Holley doesn't really see them keeping it up fifty years and figures if they got the All-Star Game in 2012 for the 100th anniversary, you'd see ownership talking about a new stadium pretty soon after. The big thing too though, is that if they do build a new stadium, it most likely won't be publicly funded. Bob Kraft and Jeremy Jacobs had to build their stadiums on their own because I guess the state just said no straight up and wouldn't help out.
  12. Yeah, it's a great channel. The offseason stuff I liked a lot, like the shows on baseball's seasons. I haven't had a chance to watch it this week, but I'm sure they're covering a ton of games. Isn't MLB extra innings doing a free preview this week? I'll have to check that out sometime.
  13. Yeah, and Dustin Pedroia is hitting .560 off of him.
  14. Tying run on third with Jeter at the plate? Of course the O's won't make this easy.
  15. No Sox today. The Yanks are on right now, so I'll have to settle for them. Did Sabbathia always wear shoes that white? I've all of a sudden noticed them now with his Yankees jersey on.
  16. Where would they put a new stadium? Are there any open spaces of land big enough in the city? I remember back before the Henry group took over and they were talking about who was going to buy the team, and whether the new group might move the team to Foxboro. UGHHHHHHHH.
  17. Jim Caple did a pretty cool story on ESPN this week about how Ichiro and Ken Griffey are getting along in the clubhouse: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/spring2009/columns/story?columnist=caple_jim&id=4020159
  18. Yeah, especially the third one with Scott Bakula. I'll only watch the first one.
  19. AL EAST: 1. Red Sox 2. Rays (WC) 3. Yankees 4. Blue Jays 5. Orioles AL CENTRAL: 1. Guardians 2. White Sox 3. Tigers 4. Twins 5. Royals AL WEST: 1. Angels 2. A's 3. Rangers 4. Mariners NL EAST 1. Phillies 2. Mets (WC) 3. Braves 4. Marlins 5. Nationals NL CENTRAL: 1. Cubs 2. Reds 3. Brewers 4. Cardinals 5. Pirates 6. Astros NL WEST: 1. Dodgers 2. Giants 3. Diamondbacks 4. Rockies 5. Padres One thing I've noticed is that almost every sports writer I've heard give their predictions has had the Red Sox in the playoffs somewhere, whether it's the division or the wild card. I haven't heard anyone yet pick the Yankees and the Rays, but not the Red Sox. I think that definitely speaks to how good this team can be this year. I put the Royals last, but I wonder if they could be that Cinderella team this year. I was playing them on The Show last night, and the lineup has a lot of potential. If guys like Alex Gordon could just get it together, they could be really good. I agree with riverside about the Reds being a possible Cinderella as well.
  20. Wasn't Major League 3 the 'back to the minors' one?
  21. Yeah, that's the way I see it. If sports writers went with the safe choices all the time, things would get awfully boring.
  22. You can't go wrong with Peavy and A-Rod down the road. Losing Reyes sucks though.
  23. Well, the reason they've been adding new seats every year is because a it's a historic stadium, and the management knows how much it means to the fans. But the second they get the idea Red Sox fans want something new, they'll probably build a new stadium. Whether that's 50 years from now or 10 years, we'll see.
