  5. wooo hinske, mirabelli and lugo bat in the 9th with varitek and drew sitting on the bench awesome tito! even wily mo...when hinske is up there while righties bat like 100 points higher than lefties off accardo
  6. WHY DO WE HAVE 3 GUYS GETTING DAYS OFF 4 GAMES INTO THE SECOND HALF WHEN TEK GOT THE DAY OFF THE OTHER DAY ANYWAYS
  7. so...Lugo hasn't been hitting recently?
  8. eh, i really dont know. you'd probably have to ask him for a complete explanation of it but he said it just came out a few months ago.
  9. ok, heres what he said..dont kill the messenger "the point is there is no such thing as a double or a single or a triple, because those are circumstancial..you cant place a weight on a double when it is circumstancial..if you hit a ground ball to LF, and he slips, it would be a 'double'..like mark beurhle, who is succeeding so much more on circumstance this year.."
  10. He said that's not the same forumula. The formula takes much more things into account, like for example, a walk is worth like 73% of a single because a walk can't advance anyone two bases or score anyone unless the bases are loaded.
  11. I don't know why either. Some of the baseball front offices have much different perceptions on prospects though.
  12. He didn't reject it. He was putting it on hold to see that he couldn't get Joba or someone from the yanks etc. I have trouble believing it too. It probably wasn't the entire story. I'll ask him next time he's on. He said its brand new and a few teams including the sox, mets and angels are using it this year.
  13. no...this guy's legit. I shouldn't post his name on here though. the mets offer wasnt better but it was close...they wouldnt budge any farther and neither would nyy, so theo pulled out you dont have to believe it, but it's legit.
  14. Interesting.. I talked to a guy on AIM today who works with stats in the White Sox front office... He said Theo originally offered Buchholz, Ellsbury and Bowden for Beurhle to keep him away from new york...Williams held off thinking he could get more for Beurhle from the mets or yanks, and almost did, as the mets had pelfrey and milledge on the table...but they pulled out, and the yanks wouldnt budge, so theo backed out... take that for what it's worth...I think it's kind of scary that Theo wasn't that protective of these guys. he also said the red sox have been using a new formula this year called RPP (run producing power) and so far it goes like this... ortiz 481, manny 463, drew 407, youkilis 403, lowell 396, hinske 389, wily mo 372, pedroia 366, varitek 357, crisp 337, lugo 328, alex cora 318...
  15. lol it was a joke You think that highly of Hansack? I think I would definitely move him down some with Lowrie, Masterson and Cox at least being above him.
