  1. Hm, I notice a few posts have been deleted...
  2. That was his 5th AB with the bases loaded this year
  3. That might have been ball four... f***ing Branyan...
  4. And the cheaters strike! (Giambi, Sheff) Yes, cap'n clutch, a homer in the first inning, oh snap.
  5. I hate Casey Fossum. You know why? Back in the day, we didn't get Bartolo Colon, because Theo didn't want to give up Fossum.
  6. This was my first ever game thread...any good?
  7. Red Sox vs. Devil Rays 7:05 PM EST NESN BOS: RHP Matt Clement (1-1, 9.00 ERA) Clement will try to forget his last outing when he makes his third start of the season. Last Thursday, the right-hander allowed his fifth career grand slam, and first since 2000, to Vernon Wells in a six-run second inning, and absorbed his first loss of the season. Clement gave up eight hits and seven earned runs in just four-plus innings. Clement's chances for getting back on track are good, as he is 3-0 with a 2.53 ERA lifetime against the Devil Rays. TB: LHP Casey Fossum (0-0, 6.94 ERA) Fossum fought wildness for his second consecutive outing while getting a no-decision Wednesday night against the Orioles. The left-hander has a 1-2 career record against the Red Sox with a 4.15 ERA. Lifetime at Fenway Park, Fossum is 7-8 with a 4.60 ERA in 43 games. Look for him to show his "Fossum Floater," which he threw twice to get strike one against O's hitters, reaching speeds of 47 and 59 mph. http://img476.imageshack.us/img476/2884/clement5rd.jpg vs. http://img140.imageshack.us/img140/7618/fossum1at.jpg Clement looks to bounce back Tampa Bay (7-6) at Boston (9-4), 7:05 p.m. ET By Mike Petraglia / Special to MLB.com Fresh from their first walk-off win of 2006, the Red Sox open a three-game series with Tampa Bay on Tuesday night. The series will conclude Boston's first homestand of the season. After Monday's dramatic 7-6 win, Boston is now 4-3 this season at Fenway and improved to 5-0 in one-run games. While Manny Ramirez has yet to record an extra-base hit this season, he is showing signs of heating up, delivering two line drive singles off the Green Monster on Monday and helping Boston's 3-4-5 hitters of David Ortiz, Ramirez and Trot Nixon hit a combined 7-for-12 in the victory. "It ends up being a great day," Sox manager Terry Francona said. "You're one pitch away from saying, 'Well, we battled and we kept coming back' ... But we did some good things. Manny swung the bat, and I said before the game that when he started hitting, he'd hit doubles but you have to take the wall into account. He hit two lasers. That's a good sign." Boston was 13-6 last year against Tampa Bay, the most wins against any opponent. The Devil Rays have started well this season, winning seven of their first 13 games under first-year skipper Joe Maddon. Player to watch David Ortiz now has five homers throught the first seven games of the homestand. His two homers Monday helped him snap out of a 1-for-11 skid in which he had been held without a extra-base hit or RBI in the first three games of the Mariners series. Go Sox!
  8. Uh, nah.
  9. I'm not sure if I would be willing to do that trade.
  10. RBI's cannot correctly judge a hitter, but we're talking about fantasy baseball here and almost every fantasy league on the planet has RBI's as a scoring category and does not have OBP. True about the hits, but Utley is still young and is getting better every year, and Vidro, while not old, is 31 and has been taking a lot of injuries. And I can guarantee you he won't have another 190 hit season. Vidro's a better sleeper but Utley's the better fantasy producer.
  11. Utley '05: .291 BA, 28 HR, 105 RBI, 16 SB, .376 OBP Vidro '03 (last year he played 140 games or more): .310 BA, 15 HR, 65 RBI, 3 SB, .397 OBP Vidro has the edge in BA and OBP but Utley is still solid in those departments and easily a better hitter than Vidro. Also now Vidro is a few years older than '03, and coming off injuries
  12. Yeah, there willl be free agents signed, trades made, and injuries happening. And you can't count on all of those guys to end up being solid major leaguers, I can guarantee you at least 1/3-1/2 of them will fizzle out.
  13. He'll be a decent fantasy option for a month or so, but when Hansen comes up to take the closer's role, Papelbon will move into the rotation and Dinardo will be back to long relief (or AAA).
  14. I was taking abuse at a Yankee forum and decided to screw it and go to a Red Sox board because they were so retarded. This was a typical thread there. Red Sox fan makes a good point Yankee fan: Uh...nut uh! I did your mom last night! Yankee fan 2: OWNED! Followed by a series of owned and pwned pictures.
  15. I don't think Mohr will be on the depth chart when Kapler gets back.
  16. My stance is sort of like J-Roll, wiggle the bat a little and tap your front foot, I don't know why...
  17. HAHAHA. That's going in my sig.
  18. I don't think an airborne tube of toothpaste is dangerous.
  19. MC Hammer -- I remember you saying you had left field seats for a game in Pittsburgh against the Giants. Are you gonna throw stuff at Bonds?
  20. Man, it was in today too, so now we're all battling for second.
  21. Syringe = funny Toothpaste = stupid
