  1. Meyer's Minors, special edition:

  3. Not quite. Beckett's been in the league for years and has proved he can be successful.
  4. I agree that it is early, but his stats so far are all we have to go on. Don't get me wrong. If anyone can successfully make the jump from Japan as a pitcher, it's DiceK. But so far he's lacked control, and the Yankees have had no problem hitting him.
  5. We will have to wait and see. Not sure, but I'm guessing less..
  6. Still. 103M is a lot to pay for a 5.45 ERA..
  7. Looks like a700hitter just lost his sig for a month... http://www.talksox.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8051&highlight=clemens
  8. Granted he had the shoulder problem a couple years ago, but does that and a tweaked hammy really make him injury prone? Was he ever really here? So the guy who's won double digit games the last 15 seasons is prone to injury? Well sure, but he's also the #5 starter when Hughes is healthy. The 5 hole is a shaky start for any team. I think it's safe to say that Hughes will only improve with more starts. Right now you are right, but Wang and Mussina will get back to their old form in the next couple of weeks, and then we will have at least 3 guys who can give us 6+ IP per start: Innings Per Start last year Mussina 6.1 Wang 6.2 Pettitte 6.0
  9. Cashman did say at one point that Hughes was only up for as long as Mussina was on the DL. Nobody really believed him though.
  10. Meyer's Minors #2, nomaas.org
  11. If we hit him all year like we did last weekend, I'd be content with him staying with the sox.
  12. It saved the pen an inning, and Pettitte only had to throw 9 pitches. It was fine with me. But I think everyone's point is that it shouldn't have to come to that. Torre should rest the pen more so that on days where you need them, like when Chase gives up 4 homers in a row, they will be more effective.
  13. I think many of the fans on here know it's too early to start bragging.
  14. from nomaas.org: this looks to be a new segment on nomaas. Weekly I think.
  15. If he breaks it then he will do it in fewer games right? We had a rainout already and will probably have another before the end of april..
  16. Rasner gets out of the jam. Looks like a 5 inning start at best.
  17. How does Rasner look today?
  18. Just how much do you expect Varitek's numbers to go up? There's no way he hits better than .250 this year.
  19. Quoted for truth.
