  1. The Giants signed Sam Madison to a 4yr 7.4 million dollar contract today. The Pats couldn't have brought in Madison for at least the same if not a little more. That contract is basically peanuts. The deal, which has been in the works for several days, is worth $7.4 million. It includes a signing bonus of $2 million and base salaries of $900,000 (for 2006), $1.2 million (2007), $1.5 million (2008) and $1.8 million (2009). There is also an annual incentive of $250,000 for four or more interceptions. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2362731
  2. And which team from what other conference will win. Only 2 other conferences other than the Big East have teams that have a great chance to win the title and thats the ACC and Big 10.
  3. I'd rather keep wells than clement because wells is a better pitcher than clement and if the Red Sox have the opportunity to get rid of clement and his contract they need to do it.
  4. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y108/templeusox/genimage2.jpg Courtesy of TempleUSox at soxprospect.com I didn't know Mike Rozier was going for the C.C. Sabathia look

  6. RCA Dome Indianapolis, Ind.
  7. Its Mike O'Connell.....he can't make a deal without the other team absolutely hosing him in a deal.
  8. TSN. marty reasoner and a draft pick......can anyone say bye bye to mike o'connell.
  9. I'd say Syracuse is looking alot better today than 2 days ago. Seton Hall losing last night helped alot. Along with beating UConn today. GW losing doesn't help at all. But if Syracuse wants to make sure they are in for sure they need to get to the Big East finals or even win it so leave no doubt.
  10. GW lost to Temple in the A-10 tourney which now costs a bubble team spot.
  11. WEEI reports the Patriots have released Willie McGinest. http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/articles/2006/03/09/patriots_cut_ties_with_mcginest/
  12. Hanley was likely going to come up anyways. I believe pokey might have been playing second but with him gone Hanley is going to make it out of spring training.
  13. There is a way of preventing them from leaving. It's called heavy security around them all the time. That is what they have while they are in Puerto Rico and will get if they make it to the next round in the United States.
  14. NFL owners have approved a six-year extension of the collective bargaining agreement by a vote of 30-2 Wednesday night. Buffalo and Cincinnati were the two teams to vote against the proposal, according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen. The agreement concludes weeks of contentious negotiations between the league and the NFL Players' Association. The new extension was expected to add $10 million to the 2006 salary cap, pushing it over $104 million. Without a CBA extension, the 2006 cap would have been $94.5 million. ESPNEWS reports that Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones briefly left the owners' meeting shortly before the 8 p.m. deadline the owners set to decide on the extension and told the waiting throng of reporters that owners were "getting close, getting close," but that it would take about "30 minutes" before anything was known. Jones did not offer any other details. Earlier Wednesday, the NFL moved back the waiver deadline for teams to get below the salary cap from 9 p.m. ET Wednesday to 11 p.m. ET.
  15. What's with the Canadians trading their star goalies to Colorado?
  16. It is a factor but so is how you play against teams in the top 50 and top 100 and Syracuse is just not very impressive with a 3-10 record against the top 50. Who have they beaten outside of West Virginia and Cincinnati twice? There 7-9 record in the Big East as well as the blowout loss against DePaul will also be held against them as well when the commitee looks at their resume.
  17. The RPI will move up a few spots but Cincinnati is not a marquee win. They need this UConn game or they be NIT bound. The DePaul loss does not help Syracuse's cause if they lose to UConn.
  18. 3-10 against the top 50 is awful. They have 1 win over a ranked team all season and it was against a team that was struggling in West Virginia. They don't beat UConn tomorrow and Syracuse can start spelling the letters N-I-T. Their SOS of schedule may be 9 but their RPI is 43 which is a boderline tournament team. UConn will likely end Syracuse NCAA's hope's tomorrow.
  19. Arod will probably ground out to end the game
  20. what a cannon of an arm. franceour is a great young player
  21. The Boston Bruins claimed right wing Mariusz Czerkzwski off waivers from the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday. Czerkzwski played 19 games with the Maple Leafs this season with four goals and one assist for five points.
  22. Syracuse needs to beat UConn to even have a chance. They are 3-10 against the RPI top 50. And the way they have played the last month has not helped either.
  23. At least we won a bronze in curling
  24. When did team USA baseball become like Team USA hockey?
  25. Even if they beat UConn they still need to reach the Big East final to have any chance. They have too bad loses against some weak teams.
