  1. We are still putting out a horseshit lineup. If Benny who pisses excellence isn't giving up on the season, he needs to get another bat very fast or the season will be unredeemable. IMO, he gave up on the season other than a miracle happening. If he hasn't written off the season, he'd be doing something to improve the team. He has been a pretty straight shooter, so hopefully he is working on something.
  2. And maybe with Pedro they win back to back titles in 2005. Our game 1 starter in the playoffs in 2005 was embarrassingly , Matt Clement. He wet his pants on the mound.
  3. Getting on base half the time is good enough for me even if they are HBPs.
  4. Victorino was 2 for 4 for the PawSox tonight. Hopefully, he is back with the big club over the weekend.
  5. The grandkid went 4 for 5 with a triple in his first game at AA.
  6. Great post. Brandon Wood was a huge power hitter in the minors, but couldn't make enough contact in the majors.
  7. I have to agree with him. Taking accountability is admirable. He knows that his piss has not been excellent.
  8. He hit .312 and drove in 19 runs in 23 games after his promotion to Advanced A earning him a promotion to AA. He is progressing quickly. Good luck to him.
  9. I believe that he used to say, " Let's play two."
  10. it was hard to mention anyone while the announcers had Jeter's cock in their mouth.
  11. i don't think roids can turn a garbage ballplayer into a star. A lot of marginal guys took them and stayed marginal.
  12. I am not sure whether this move indicate that the Sox will be buyers. LOL!
  13. If he isn't back in the bigs next year, they'll be divorced by the end of 2015.
  14. As I said earlier, I think Bogaerts for Stanton is an arguably good deal even if Bogaerts becomes a star. The trade would also eliminate the risk of Bogaerts being a bust.
  15. We are the Boston Red Sox not the KC Royals. We have the resources to sign him now and make him the centerpiece for the future.
  16. So, you would get rid of Lester in favor of 2 hopefully ace like years of Lee. After the 2 years of Lee, Rubby, Owens, Renaudo, Cecchini, Bradley and XB will all be established stars or very good players? I think that might be just a bit overly ambitious.
  17. I explaine why. Making the deal has less downside. The only downside is accelerating a payroll increase.
  18. XB's growng pains may be just that, and he may go on to become a star. However, even if he becomes a star, I don't think anyone projects him to come close to becoming the offensive force that Stanton is. On that basis alone, there is a strong argument to make the deal and bring Stanton in as the centerpiece of the team's future. We should not be overlook the possibility that XB's difficulties are not growing pains but rather an indication the he might not be become a star. If that turns out to be the case, trading him now for Stanton would be a steal. In summary, if XB becomes a star, we will still be debating whether this was a good trade, because Stanton will be a mega star. If XB doesn't live up to expectaions, the deal would be a huge win for the Sox. I would eliminate the downside risk of XB flopping while being secure in my opinion that XB will never approach being the offensive force that Stanton is.
  19. In retrospect, the best and cheapest alternative would have been to let Holt play 3rd.
  20. My Jeter-groupie friend, shortstops have won the MVP award 15 times. Some of the recent names that you might remember are Jimmy Rollins, Miguel Tejeda, ARod, Ripken and Yount. As far as the Yankees go, Phil Rizzuto won the award at SS on a team that had Joe DiMaggio.
  21. There is nothing wrong with old school. New school isn't doing so great.
  22. Was Pedro's mini-me taller than Rosenthal?
  23. This Jeter sucking cockfest is making me sick. He was an excellent player for a long time, but this is not Ruth, Mantle, Williams, Musial, Mays, Aaron, Bench or Yaz. He was a below average fielder that never won an MVP, nor did he ever lead the league in HR, RBI, Batting Average, Slugging percentage or On base percentage. Enough already!
  24. Not a bad trade.
  25. One way or another, this thread should provide some good laughs in 2 or 3 years. Stanton is a legit powerhouse star. Take him out of that pitcher friendly ballpark and he will provide real fireworks. XB doesn't have Stanton's ceiling. As for the premium position argument, it remains to be seen if he will be a good SS. They had to move him to 3rd this season. I just hope that when we revisit this thread in a couple of years that Stanton is not launching rockets for the Yankees.
