  1. Print the World Series tickets.
  2. Time for Papi to start taking BP
  3. Marco continues to impress.
  4. He messed up. It was surprisingly unprofessional.
  5. lol!
  6. I like the idea of having trained on-field mediators and arbitrators at each game ready to spring int action. LOL!!
  7. I don't seemore legislation of the game being the solution. There are already too many rules. Let the game police itself. Back in the 1960's Juan Marichal bludgeoned John Roseboro over the head with his bat fracturing his skull. It was shocking. That was an assault with a deadly weapon and completely outside of the unwritten policing rules of the game. Had Marichal not been a HOF caliber pitcher, he might have been banned from the game. He played for about 9 or 10 more seasons. Crazy stuff occasionally happens, and I can't see a zero tolerance policy being enforced by MLB. They will always put financial interests first. If Bryce Harper punches an umpire in the face, he is not getting banned. He will get a stiff fine and anger management training. If Ruben Tejada punches an umpire, he will get banished.
  8. If we get into a brawl with the Orioles, Pedey will probably bring out a basket of muffins for Machado.
  9. If he agreed with itnor not, he should have kept his mouth shut or taken it up with Barnes and the manager in private.
  10. You build excuse upon excuse for Ben. First of all, you have no reliable evidence that Pablo wasn't Ben's idea except that you think it wasn't his type of deal. Then when I point out that he would be an ineffective GM for not being able to convince ownership that it was a bad deal, you suggest that he was bullied into it. Again, you have no knowledge or evidence regarding the dynamics of his relationship with ownership. Also, if what you say is true, why would he get any credit for the good moves. Weren't those just as likely dictated by upper management?
  11. Lighten up. It is just fun.
  12. I have repeatable skills, and I am clutch.
  13. No, tonight's game is rescheduled for July 16th.
  14. And you will continue to get this comment. If someone else in the organization suggested the signing an Ben thought it was a bad move, it was his job as the GM to convince them why it was a bad move. Either way, the fact that Pablo was signed is on Ben either. Because it was his idea or he was ineffective in doing his job of controlling personnel moves.
  15. I could not believe what I was seeing when they had the camera on him. I kept hopping that the "them" he was referring to was not his pitchers, and had some other explanation. His post game comments clarified that he was throwing the pitchers under the bus. That may be the last time that anyone of his teammates has his back.
  16. None of the bad moves were Ben's fault. That is obvious.
  17. They should exchange them or give you a refund.
  18. I am not glad that fatboy played poorly and got injured. I am just not surprised that he has been fielding groundballs like they are hand grenades nor that he is back on the DL. The guy is useless.
  19. Hopefully, they get the next 2 games in.
  20. What about at 3B? He has a power stick.
  21. The danger is always there when a player is firing the ball at 90-95+. I think there is more danger today than in era's gone-bye when pitching inside was more a part of the game. If you watch some films of games in the 1950's, even the superstar hitters didn't dig in and at the plate, and they bailed out on curve-balls. They were in the batters box with light feet and they were much more adept at dodging inside pitches. It was really hard to hit Willie Mays and plenty of pitches tried to plunk him, but he could dive, jack-knife and dodge all sorts of pitches. Today, guys dig in like they are planting a tree. They wear helmets and body-armor. And many don't know how to avoid getting hit by the inside pitch because they are always diving into the pitch.
  22. Paul Blair became a so-so offensive player after his beaning. He could not keep from bailing out. He was expected to have a big offensive career, but that never happened. Doug Griffin's career was effectively ended by a Nolan Ryan heater to the helmet.
