  1. Down 2 after 3. They should be able to keep the pressure up on Washburn.
  2. Nice play in foul territory by Kapler.
  3. He's been looking better lately at the plate. His average is coming up slowly.
  4. I know what you are saying, but these guys have their swings so grooved that they fear altering anything could throw off their stroke. Ortiz figures he'll give up some batting average so as not to sacrifice his power production.
  5. When they put the shift on him, the pitchers pitch to the shift. They want him to pull the ball so he usually doesn't see a ball on the outside like that.
  6. You don't see Ortiz slash a ball in that direction too often.
  7. A very long single by Loretta.
  8. Nice 2nd inning with 2 k's by Lester.
  9. Theuuuhhhh Yankeees Loooose!!! Thuhhhhhhhh Yankees Looooose!!!!
  10. Pop single into the Bermuda Triangle in LF
  11. Two run double by Beltre in the first inning. No one out yet.
  12. No one is a better color commentator than jerry Remy. He showed Manny throwing the bat back towards the ump. He summarized the situation and concluded that Manny was lucky to still be in the game. Then he let it go. Informative without overkilling the issue.
  13. Walking Loretta before Ortiz and manny must make a pitcher want to put a gun in his mouth.
  14. He was on the thershhold of becoming a star when he hurt his elbow. He had surgery. I'm not sure if it was Tommy John surgery. The next ST he showed up and couldn't straighten his arm. He rehabbed, but I don't think he could ever straighten his arm, and I don't think he played again.
  15. A Baker's Dozen for the Jays.
  16. I agree.
  17. Why so Huffy today? IMO unless Trot continues his slump through the end of the year or unless the Red Sox have bad medical data about his back, they should consider re-signing him. In addition to what he does on the field, his leadership in the Clubhouse is underrated. Everyone loves Ortiz in the Clubhouse and everyone respects Trot. He brings a certain professional atmosphere to the clubhouse that is needed for a team to be a winner.
  18. ARod is 0-4 so far.
  19. As a platoon player, he would get the majority of the ABs.
  20. Hmmm. I didn't think of that. Who knows?
  21. He knocked one off the wall in St. Louis with the bases jammed in the 2004 WS. That is only a year and a half ago.
  22. I don't think a final decision on Trot can be made until the end of the year. You don't make a decision whether or not to re-sign a guy based on 1 or 2 months.
  23. Who is trying to be funny. That's just what I've decided to call him, when he is stinking out the joint.
