  1. The Tatis injury reminds me very much of the injury suffered by Harmon Killebrew in the 1968 All Star game. Fernando Tatis Jr injured does splits WWW.MLB.COM WASHINGTON – The Padres’ five-game winning streak went sailing high into the late evening sky off the bat of Matt Adams, but the 7-6 defeat in 11 innings on Sunday was secondary to the loss of prized rookie shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr., who left the game an inning earlier due

  9. Friday's starter if the game is played: [h=2]Red Sox Select Josh Smith[/h]By Jeff Todd | April 26, 2019 at 2:25pm CDT The Red Sox have selected the contract of righty Josh Smith, per a club announcement. He’ll make a start today for the club if the scheduled contest isn’t rained out. Reliever Travis Lakins was optioned down to open active roster space. Smith, 31, saw 127 1/3 innings of big-league action from 2015-17 but failed to make it back up last year. He owns a 5.30 ERA with 7.3 K/9 and 4.4 BB/9 at the game’s highest level. Though he has never posted dominating numbers in the upper minors, Smith has struck out better than a batter per nine at the Triple-A level since the start of the 2017 season. He has racked up 23 strikeouts against five walks in 16 2/3 innings in three starts for Pawtucket to open the present season.
  10. We have 16 more games with Tampa. There are plenty of opportunities to make up the game at a future date. There's no reason to play a Day - Night DH tomorrow.

  12. What are the prospects of playing Friday night's game?
  13. I feel better knowing that other people's emotions rise and fall with the fortunes of their teams. I have trying to work on that.
  14. RIP Hondo. A great Celtic from the great Celtic dynasty. https://www2.bostonglobe.com/metro/obituaries/2019/04/25/john-havlicek-one-greatest-celtics-ever-dies/Dwh59K8YIZO9PZ0b3lMQ7J/story.html?s_campaign=breakingnews:newsletter
  15. It is valuable. But it is not an ace.
  16. Some people just cannot let go of their resentment of the BDC posters.
  17. Porcello is a solid innings eater, but with the exception of one season, he’s never been an ace.
  18. Chavis can hit the long ball!!
  19. Agreed. Sox management loved him and just saw something in him that didn't translate to baseball.
  20. I am with Moon on this. I feel bad for Swihart, but the only mess up by the Red Sox was that they greatly over-estimated his potential. He had plenty of time to bounce back from the ankle sprain.
  21. Could he be injured? He seems to be having trouble with his left shoulder.
  22. At this rate, Barnes’ arm will be dead by August. Hopefully, the offense starts to step up and we can have some comfortable games for the pen. The 9th inning tonight was a good situation to use Brewer.
