  1. This is ridiculous letting this POS Loe go through the game this easily.
  2. I don't doubt that at 35 he can't produce the numbers that he has put up for the past few years, but those numbers were somewhere in the stratosphere. Even a declining Manny is still the firs or second best hitter on the team. In a couple or three years, maybe not, but right now he and Ortiz are still our top two guys.
  3. Torre, being a retard again, has Cano in the 3 hole. ARod is his best hitter right now...duh.
  4. Manny is the last guy I will worry about. Maybe in a two or three more years, I'll be a little concerned, but by then he'll probably be hanging out on a beach in the DR.
  5. Jeter just took one off the elbow from hanging over the plate. Bases loaded.
  6. Haren is in the process of giving back the 8 run lead. 8-4 with runners on 2nd and 3rd, 1 out and Damon up
  7. He challenged Manny and that wasn't smart. He just missed that one. He risked the 3 -run bomb when the guy after him is a singles hitter.
  8. Byrd butchered that ball. He looked worse than WMP. Speaking of WMP. I can't understand why they aren't taking this opportunity to get his bat into the lineup.
  9. Beautiful play by Cora to end the inning.
  10. Get a grounder from Vasquez. He's a DP waiting to happen
  11. Freakin Lofton is as hot as a pistol. Maybe we should pick him up at the trading deadline.
  12. Before the game, the announcers in breaking down the pitching said that Pettitte had been giving up a lot less HRs this year 1/17 innings as compared to 1/7 innings last year. Right there I felt that he would give up a couple of bombs, because water eventually finds its own level. When the game started the announcers were whining about the dunk hits saying that Pettitte was not being hit hard. What was happening was that they were hitting his good pitches the other way and they were getting enough of them to get them in for hits. That's called good hitting. When he left the ball in the middle of the plate, they mashed him. Andy sucked today. No excuses. On another note, I was going to add Cust to my fantasy league team today, but after this weekend one of the Yankee fans that picks before me is bound to pick him up.
  13. Major league batters will determine if he's welcome.
  14. These two guys have .388 and .434 OBP's and they are not performing up to their usual standards. That's how great they are. I can't see criticizing them. Edit: The teams that have more HRs than the Red Sox have a better distribution of power threats in their lineup. Drew has 6. I think 3 or 4 came in a single week. Youk hit one in June. Varitek and even Lowell have not hit a lot of long balls lately. We've got two big bangers in the middle of the lineup and no legit long ball threats anywhere else.
  15. He left too many balls in the middle of the plate. It was a 2006 Beckett performance. It was like his start against the Rangers at home last June, but Papi hit the 3 run walk-off jack to win that one.
